posted to the hub.

When• Before the established deadline.• If material is asked to be done “for next class”, you should post it before class

begins.

Where• Use the link on your classpage- this will take you right to the discussion board where

your folder is.• Alternatively, go to hub.stgeorges.bc.ca and search for your class.• Unless other requested, post to the folder with your name.

Why• Posting to the hub allows you and your teacher to keep organised.• It creates a mini-portfolio of all your work.• Can make sharing work for peer review easier.

POSTING TO THE HUB

Work posted to each student’s folder is his own private work, and should be a private dialogue between that student and his teacher.

Work posted to assignment-specific folders will be available for purposeful review by other students.

Work posted to the hub should meet expectations of formality, grammar and spelling as well as academic integrity, as outlined by the assignment.

It is suggested that you use a word processing program to compose your work and then copy/paste it into the post or attach a file. This may help with spelling and grammar, and can help prevent work from being lost due to a “timing out” situation.

Follow a direct link provided by your teacher or go to http://hub.stgeorges.bc.ca

Use your St George’s login credentials.

In the top right corner, click My Site.

In the top right corner, click Classes and Groups.

You will arrive to a list of your classes that you have added or been invited to.

If you don’t see your class, click Find Classes.

If you do see your class, click on it.

Ensure that you are on the Discussion Board tab.

We are using the Discussion Board as our assignment posting venue.

Based on the instructions given, you might be asked to post to a specific folder (grey arrow), or the default will be to post to the folder with your name (red arrow). For both, click on the name of the folder.

Once in the folder, click Reply.

POSTING TO THE HUB A dialogue box will open.

You can type directly in the box, or you can attach a file (grey arrow).

Once you have completed your post, click save (red arrow).

Your message will go to the bottom of your folder.
