Law LL.MIf you choose this course you could benefit from:an in-depth understanding and analysis of international law through the study of a range of contemporary modules in areas such as public international law, international human rights law and international business;
extensive guidance on research, study and writing skills together with research design and methods, in preparation for writing assessments and researching and submitting your dissertation; a range of contemporary international law modules to allow specialism in international diplomatic relations, human rights law, business law, corporate governance and environmental law;
the study of legal subjects and research and academic skills alongside home and EU students and a wide range of international students, thus gaining a rewarding and varied academic and personal experience.
International Law LLM
International law regulates almost every aspect of state law and practice, whether in business, human rights or the environment, and also regulates the relationship between different states and governments.

International Business LawInternational business and business law has an impact on all manner of companies who need to adjust to the demands of global trade. International Business Law embraces the legal framework and environment in which transnational business is conducted, providing an opportunity to learn the principles of that framework and the specific laws and regulations pertaining to areas such as international sales, intellectual property and corporate governance.
Courses are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect new developments and the requirements of the profession, together with the needs of industry and new legislative and other changes. The mandatory modules on the programme provide basic research skills and methodology and tuition in the core substantive legal areas:
Research Skills, Research Design, Dissertation, International Business Law, International Trade Law, International Corporate Governance
International Environmental Law, International Corporate Crime, International Competition Law and Practice, Optional modules are generally studied in semester 2, although it is possible to study some in semester 1.
Oil, Gas and Energy Law LL.MThe Oil, Gas and Energy Law LLM is one of a portfolio of degrees offered by Coventry Law School. It seeks to develop industry professionals working within the energy sector who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of the wider legal issues surrounding the oil, gas and energy sectors, and those who wish to enter the sector.
• Offering an international student experience,• The opportunity to undertake an internship
The LLM will take into account the dynamic nature of the energy industry, as signposted in the Contemporary Issues in Oil and Gas module. Specifically the LLM incorporates mandatory modules on Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility within the energy sector, Furthermore with the opportunity to gain a Chartered Management Institute award (CMI). As part of their studies, students will be given the opportunity to complete a dissertation in an approved related topic, or to undertake an internship (subject to competitive application) with a host organisation within the energy industry. Both the dissertation and internship will be facilitated by training in research skills and research methods.
