Uma análise termodinâmica do comportamento do enxofre – S – no
sistema ferro/escória/carbono em fornos de redução mostra que para uma dada
escória a capacidade de sulfeto (CS) pode ser determinada a partir de medidas dos
teores de enxofre na escória, após deixar em equilíbrio com a fase gasosa
contendo pressões parciais de oxigênio e de enxofre gasoso pré-fixados.
