I looked at ten pieces of work and analysed them

Two artist I studied

I looked at Van Gogh. Van Goghs art are commonly paintings which are of a wide matter of things. He did portraits, landscapes and still life. He used oil paint which allowed him to really work into his paintings and create such colourful pieces. I think his work is really effective by changing what he sees in reality to what he paints. It really inspires me because he isn’t afraid to use ranges of colour and not blend things in. this allows you to see the movement of each section.

I also looked at David Hockney. He uses very vibrant colours. This makes it eye catching. I like the contrast of the bright green and red/brown on the trunk. This contrast brings out the two colours and so makes the trunk stand out. His art work is unrealistic because of the too vibrant colours and how you are able to see the brush marks. I think this makes the piece more exciting.

make Britain loom like a great country. It was a way to influence the

Painting was the most traditions or common process but once computers cam in and other technology there was and increase in graphic design

Parts in history influenced artists work.For example many artsiest are influence by ancient Greek style of ancient Egypt

What is popular at the time influence artists. For example in ancient Greece it was popular to do art in a realistic style. The statues and artwork of the women and men also looks all very similar.

I then did three experiments which where of the two artists work

I did all of these with acrylic as the van Gogh and David Hockney used oil paints which are similar to oil but are faster to dry. I also chose them as they are easy to manipulate and they produce bright powerful colours.

Research of posters

Communicates power Uses the three main colours (red white and blue)these are the colours of the flag with makes hit clearly about America and make Obama patriotic and makes him represent the US. Simplifying the piece by only using the three colours and also having no blend make it come across more powerful and bold.

It all links the use of the paint as it is an art gallery and it of the London tube map as it is in London. I like how every thing flow into each other. The fact that nothing is separate and it looks like the paint is actually on the poster.

There is red which drips make you think of blood which leads you to think about violence. This helps communicate that it is an action movie.

Its really different see an image inside a different shape. It is clever how it uses parts of the image inside to create the features of the bear. For example the moon behind the mountains looks like the eye. However this doesn’t give enough information about the event. If I saw this I still am not completely sure what it is advertising.

I faded the painting I did inspired by van Gogh's piece. I think this piece it too dull. It doesn’t give enough information. It doesn’t communicate that this is an art course.

This is inspired my the Tate poster. I put the work at the top of the page and writing at the bottom. I think this it too simple and isn't interesting to look at.

I think the easel is effective and this clearly links too art. However I dislike the layout. I like the font but I think it should be more bold.

My favourite prototype and why

This was my favourite as the easel is effective and communicates that this is an art course well. It was inspired from the bear poster by having a shape of an object and having another picture inside. The picture inside of the painting I did of van Gogh's piece. However the layout could be developed. I don’t think the layout flows well.

2016I prefer the capital letters as it makes the more powerful and it links to the posters. I like how the different font from the title to the text separates the information subtlety. That idea was from the Tate poster. This change of font separates the title from the text and makes the title bolder. I think it looks better with the easel on top of the page and it make it the first thing you see on the page. I moved the easel as I looked at the James bond poster and thought it looked effective there. The image draws you in more than plain text.
