Poster Planning
ByCallum Sands
Poster Planning I want my poster to be a visual representation of my tagline which is, ‘Ripping the Genre Apart’. The
idea behind the tagline was that I see my project as kind of like Frankenstein's monster in a way. I'm taking parts of the horror genre that already exist and stitching them together with a new body of narrative as I’m recreating scenes from horror films in my film.
So to allow my photograph on my poster to be a visual representation of the tagline I will edit a picture of one of the main killer identities then I will manipulate the image once printed and literally rip the picture and resemble for it to be then scanned back into the computer. Once there I will then follow the Scream 4 poster as a close template:

You can clearly see how the Scream 4 poster has influenced my work. After all the scream franchise is a big contributor to my project overall . I do like the how the picture is a visual representation of the tagline of the film.

If I had enough time I would like to create a series of posters for the project. It would have the same template as the one I have already planned but it would feature the other three identities the killer will take on in the film. There fore it would still shroud the film in mystery if the audience were only to see the poster instead of the trailer. Also the characters faces would still be ripped like that of the previous design.
Text Design
I used a treasure font design on 1001 Free Fonts. I liked the distorted look of the font. I also liked the way a forward lash
appeared as eyes as I thought that would be good to use for the date of the films release. I then edited the black in Photoshop to look
red.
