During the STSM in Malta the aims were to:
• Identify the RDM practices that the Times of Malta follows to handle, store and
share their data
• Evaluate the data that are being produced and shared to the public.
• Possibly commence a set of series for data audits and comparative studies at
commercial environments in the future.
• Inspire others to think out of the box and seek for RDM practices in various
environments rather than the traditional ones.

Data management at a commercial environment:
conducting a mini data audit on the data produced by the Times of Malta
INTRODUCTION
2. Meetings with representatives from all departments were held in order to get a
better view on the Data Management practices that are followed for their digital
content. Enquiries varied from the types of digital data that are being generated,
published, accessed and used; the people that are involved in the process; the data
storage platform capabilities, etc.
3. Discussions with Times of Malta accommodated the definition of the type of
datasets that were chosen for collection and any confidentiality issues of the data
that were to be made available online.
4. Results analysis from the perspective of Knowledge Management, Information
and Computer Science accompanied with a list of recommendations.
