The Tripartite Foundation for Training in Employment, which belongs to the State Public Sector, is one of the bodies that carried out the organizational and institutional participation structure of the subsystem of vocational training for employment. It has a tripartite nature and its board of trustees is formed by the Public Administration and the most representative employers' and trade union organizations. The Tripartite Foundation for Training in Employment is in charge of promoting and coordinating the execution of public policies in the field of Vocational Training for Employment. The purpose of Vocational Training for Employment, which is one of the subsystems of Vocational Training that exists in Spain, is to provide training mainly to employed workers in order to improve their professional skills and personal development and to promote the competiti- veness of companies. To achieve these goals, the Foundation finances different activities such as Training courses in companies and Individual Training Leaves, Training plans aimed on a priority basis at employed workers and Innovation and research activities to support training. It is in the framework of these activities that the Foundation promotes the training for trainers that can be developed through different ways: Specific Training for trainers courses in companies. General Training for trainers courses. Research studies on the role of trainers in vocational training. Training for trainers in the framework of the Tripartite Foundation for Employment Training activity. Every year the participation in training for trainers courses is increasing. This participation is concentrated mainly in courses for improvement or upda- ting knowledge and competences (88%), and only 12% receive TIC specific training. If we consider the training for trainers courses in companies, the data show that the companies, that belong to the following economic sectors ( educa- tion and training, trade, hotel and catering and other services); are the companies that develop mainly this kind of training for their workers. In the case of the TIC specific training, it is especially significant in the educational and training sectors. Present Profile of trainers The majority of trainers are 31 and 45 year old, with a slight predominance of men trainers, with upper secondary studies, who also play a role of inter- nal trainer in their companies, or in private centers essentially mainly in continuing training for workers. They lecture the training mainly at the classro- om. Trends Training in Employment Open a process that makes the current lineup is directed to achieve impact in the workplace.
