    Greetings from team JSS Centre for Management Studies!!!

    JSSCMS a constituent unit of JSS Mahavidyapeetha offers a two year full time MBA

    program (Autonomous) affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum,

    Karnataka. JSSCMS was conceptualized and started during the year 1998 and has

    successfully completed 14 years. JSSCMS is recognized as one of the pioneer management

    educational institution in and around Mysore.

    JSSCMS takes pride to informing you that a Symposium on Innovation in Management -

    Opportunities and Challenges is been organized from 8th

    May 2013 to 9th

    May 2013. The

    Contemporary thinking and discussions have identified innovation as the key to progress at

    both national and international levels. Efforts and ability for new ideas, management

    processes and solutions are recognized to be the current imperatives for both social good and

    economic well being.

    It is in this context that the symposium aims to bring together around 20 innovation

    management professionals from research, industry and intermediary organizations. The

    symposium includes poster presentation opportunities to around 50 students, deliberations

    and panel discussions.

    Recognising the need to nurture the young talents, a poster presentation is facilitated on the

    symposium theme. The detailed guidelines are attached herewith. We request you to

    encourage your students/research scholars to participate in the poster presentation and grab an

    opportunity in the youngster session, which is earmarked for 10 best posters.

    All presentations discussions outcomes and abstracts of posters will be compiled as a book

    by JSSCMS. We look forward to see you par students participate in the symposium as a

    delegate.

    Guidelines for Posters

    The poster session is meant exclusively for Student Authors to present their papers (based

    on their Project / Thesis work) during the Conference. The poster can be around the

    following subtheme

    Innovation and economic growth in India Product Innovation Process Innovation Social Innovation for inclusive growth Innovations in Financial markets / Institutions Innovative Strategies Innovative HR Practices Innovative Business ModelsThe poster should allow the attendees to read/recognize the key points of the work easily

    from a distance of at least 4' and to facilitate more detailed discussions with the authors.

    Often, the best poster comprises the following:

    The objectives, Significant Charts/ graphs/illustrations annotated clearly with only enough text

    to highlight key points

    Data analysis if any, conclusions and impact.

    (Note that the poster should not be a replica of a published manuscript nor should text be

    reproduced on it as is)

    General Guidelines

    Posters will be displayed on both the days of the symposium. However, during certain time

    slots (to be announced later) it is expected that at least one author is present near the poster

    to answer queries.

    The panel area for each poster paper is 3' by 3' (feet).

    Posters will be attached to the panel with push-pins or tapes, which will be available in the

    poster area.

    Authors are free to use one large poster or many smaller posters, as long as they fit in the

    provided panel area.

    The title of the poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters, about 25mm high. Belowthe title, author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s) should appear. The flow of the poster should be

    from top-left to bottom-right.

    Specific Guidelines

    The poster will typically consist of a number of several A4-size pages (with large print on

    them as prescribed) pinned or taped to the panel, although larger paper formats are

    acceptable and even desirable.

    First page should consist of the paper title, names of authors and affiliation.

    Second page should consist of a brief abstract outlining the key points of the paper.

    A minimum font size of 18 points for text and 30 points for headings should be used.

    Text should be limited to 4-6 key points per page. Graphs or illustrations should be limited to

    2 per page.

    Appropriate use of colour is strongly encouraged.

    Best Poster Award and Youngster Session

    1. AWARD: An Award Committee would evaluate the posters. One Best Poster award willbe presented. The criteria for selecting the Best Poster are:

    Quality of the manuscript: Originality, significance, technical merits and overall quality.

    Presentation: Clarity of the presentation, and effectiveness of communication of the

    concepts to the audience.

    Poster format: Layout and design of the poster.

    2. YOUNGSTER SESSION: 10 best posters will be provided an opportunity to present thesame in the youngster session

    IMPORTANT DATES:

    Register Before 5th

    April 2013 along with an abstract

    Submit the complete poster on or before 25th

    April 2013.
