Model gaze

On this poster, there are various different images. Every image is used for a reason, and gives off some information about the movie from the facial expressions form the models, to the mise on scene.

In all of these images, the models on the poster are gazing in the same direction, and this brings up questions such as, “Who/What are they looking at?”, and this question proposed to the audience gives off a possible genre to the audience which could be, mystery/crime.

Also, in the majority of these images, the models are wearing smart clothing, which gives a sense of mystery in the workplace.

Genre Part 1

In this poster there are various different things that slightly give off what the genre could be. One example is the faded face in the background with the text, “Do you believe in ghosts?” next to it:

- This shows that the genre of the movie is most likely to be a horror/thriller, and is likely to involve ghosts. The way in which this face is blended into the background, is used to give a sense of something being there, but at the same time not, and this also gives off a sense of mystery to the audience, and makes them wonder, “Who is this a ghost of?”.- Also, the genre is slightly given off with the use

of this image of the model, with the use of his eye, and although the eye is such a small part of the image, if the viewer looks deep enough they can see the fear which backs up the theory of the movie being a horror, and makes the viewer wonder, “Why is he scared?”.

Genre Part 2

The spacing of the text on this poster gives a sense of distance, which signifies that within this movie, there is a lot of mystery, and un-answered questions.

Also, the fonts used for these pieces of text are the type of styles that are expected to see for a horror movie, simply because they are not solid and blocky, but fade at corners, and give off glare, which gives the sense of extra presence, for example the presence of a ghost.
