Postural drainage positions
The following positions can be used, with gravity helping to assistthe removal of secretions. This depends upon which lung you aretrying to clear. Your physiotherapist will advise you which positionto use, along with the appropriate breathing exercises. If any ofthese positions increase your breathlessness please contact yourphysiotherapist.
