Plant Cell and Molecular Biologist University of California-Davis

Molecular Genetics Two positions are available, Summer of 1986, to study: (1) The structural characterization of human alpha- and beta- spectrin genes, which will subsequently be used to identify the molecular defects in those inherited hemolytic anemias which have been shown to have deficient spectrin; (2) the characteriza- tion of chloride transport proteins by cDNA and genomic cloning, mapping and genetic linkage to cystic fibrosis and by using retroviral vectors to study the expression of cloned cDNAs.
