Position: Engineer Location: Virginia Beach Status: Unfunded Job Description: Candidates must be experienced in developing products using industry software (ACAD, Office, etc.) to support Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) and Alteration Installation Team (AIT) drawing development. Must possess knowledge and experience with military and commercial specifications including but not limited to Technical Specification 9090-600, 909-100, 9090-310, General Specification for Overhaul S9AA0-AB-GOS-010/GSO, and NAVSEA Standard Items. Must be able to apply sound engineering principles to analyze, research, and provide calculations to develop drawing packages. Perform as project lead and technical point-of-contact (POC). Accomplish QA of engineering products. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering from accredited college or university. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the design, integration, modernization, and alteration of US Navy, MSC, and commercial vessels. Security Requirements: U.S. citizenship required. Must meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards. Travel Requirements: Up to 25% with both in the US and outside the US Other Requirements: Requirements will include site visits to ship and shore facilities and will include industrial areas such as confined spaces, ladders, masts, platforms, etc.
