The scoring 1• The tool uses a scoring system based on the

Healthcare Commission framework:

1 = Little or no progress at strategic level or at operational level

IIa+ b = Worthwhile progress and development at strategic level but not at operational level (or vice-versa)

IIc = Worthwhile progress and development at strategic level and at operational level but not across the whole organisation or function.

The scoring 2

3 = Good strategic grasp and substantial implementation.

4 = Excellence – co-ordinated activity and development across the whole organisation or function that is demonstrably leading to improvements.
