Travel to the area once known as the Portuguese Riviera, located on the northern bank of the mouth of the Tagus River. You will see Lisbon’s seaside resort towns of Estoril, Cascais and Guincho. You will also see Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, and the romantic city of Sintra, where you will visit the National Palace that served as the royal residence until 1910. After leaving Sintra, say goodbye to Lisbon and travel towards Obidos. This small, entirely fortified medieval village is famous for its whitewashed houses decorated with multi-coloured bougainvilleas, which will take you back centuries. Continue to Alcobaça, a region given by the first king of Portugal to the Order of Cistercians. Towards the end of the afternoon, you will arrive at Fatima, one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Catholics.
