On a bright sunny day, some pupils werechatting in front of the main entrance of Colégio do Sardão…

Maria: Last night I slept so badly. I could-

n’t forget what my sister had told me...

João: What did she tell you? Don’t tell methat it’s the Colégio do Sardão old ghost

story of a man holding a big bottle of Porto wine and a typical British umbrella

in his hands? That’s a silly old story, Idon’t believe in such ridiculous gossip.

Maria: My sister swore it was true. She

told me that one night while they were

having a party in the school canteen, theysaw someone at the balcony…and then

suddenly the lights were turned off, andthey heard a scary scream…

Într -o zi însorită câţiva elevi stăteau devorbă în faţa intrării principale de laColégio do Sardão.

Maria: Noaptea trecută am dormit prost.

N-am putut sa uit ce mi-a spus sora mea.João: Ce ţi-a spus? Să nu-mi spui că iar evechea poveste de groază de la Colégio

do Sardão despre un bărbat ţinând înmâini o sticlă mare de vin de Porto şi oumbrelă tipic englezească? E o veche

poveste stupidă. Nu cred in aşa ceva. Maria: Sora mea s-a jurat că esteadevărat.Mi-a zis că, într -o seară, în timpce făceau o petrecere la cantina şcolii, au

văzut pe cineva la balcon..... şi apoiluminile s-au stins brusc şi au auzit unţipăt înfricoşător.....

The next thing they knew, Maria and

João were flying through the air holdingtight to the umbrella.

They landed with a bump and looked

around.

Maria : What happened?João Where are we? It looks like we are in a

castle, and look there is the flag of England.A Yeoman Warder (beefeater) marched over

to the children.

Beefeater: Come with me to the Tower of London and I will show you a painting, it is

of Anne Boleyn, wife of Henry VIII. Shehad her head chopped off by this sword.

Maria: Look João, on the wall behind AnneBoleyn. There is a moose head.

With that there was a scream........ a shadow

of a woman passed along the wall...

Următorul lucru pe care îl stiuMaria şi João este că zburau prin aer ţinându-se strâns de umbrelă. Au aterizat cu o bufnitură şi au privit in jur.

Maria: Ce s-a întâmplat?

João: Unde suntem? Parcă am fi într -uncastel şi uite, steagul Angliei! Un gardian a venit către ei. Gardianul: Veniţi cu mine în TurnulLondrei şi o să vă arăt un tablou al luiAnne Boleyn, soţia lui Henry al VIII-lea. Are capul tăiat de sabia lui. Maria: João, uită-te la peretele dinspatele tabloului. Este un cap de elan.

S-a auzit un ţipăt....o umbră de femeie atrecut pe perete.......

Maria and João ran away, but unexpectedly

the moose’s head sucked the children in!

Maria: Aah! I feel so dizzy, what’s going on?

João: I don’t know, but it doesn’t look as if we are

in the Tower of London anymore…

Soon they found themselves in Finland, in the mid-

dle of an art museum in Tampere. Maria and João

walked a little and looked at some beautiful paint-

ings which were hanging on the walls. When they

were near the painting which portrayed the

Kalevala, they stopped.João: Look, the information board next to this

painting tells us about Wäinämöinen and his Fin-

nish zither.

Suddenly they heard footsteps.

Guard: What are you doing here?

João and Maria: Quick, run!

The children got scared and escaped from the mu-

seum.

Outside they saw a big door which was oppositethe Museum. As the children entered through the

door they found themselves in a middle of a hockey

match.

Two teams called Tappara and Lukko were play-

ing. Tappara’s player Jori Lehterä scored a goal.

After the match the children went to an observation

tower called Näsinneula.

There they ate some black

sausage, a traditional Finnishfood from Tampere. From the

window Maria and João

saw a helicopter which was

flying above the Näsijärvi…

Maria şi João au fugit. Pe neaşteptate

capul elanului i-a aspirat pe copii.

Curând s-au trezit în muzeul de artă

din Tampere în Finlanda.Maria şi João s-au

plimbat puţin prin muzeu şi s-au uitat la

tablourile frumoase expuse pe pereţi. Când

erau aproape de tabloul care reprezenta

Kalevala s-au oprit . Plăcuţa de sub tablou

dădea informaţii despre Wäinämöinen şi

instrumentul specific finlandez. (Finnish

zither.)

Brusc au auzit paşi si vocea unui

gardian.”Ce faceţi aici?”, a întrebat el.

Copiii s-au speriat şi au fugit. Afară au văzut o

uşă mare vizavi de muzeu. Au intrat şi s-au

trezit în mijlocul unui meci de hochei.

Jucau două echipe: Tappara şi Lukko.

Jori Lehterä, jucătorul de la Tappara, a marcat

un gol.

După meci copiii s-au dus la un turn deobservare numit Näsinneula. Acolo au mâncat

nişte cârnaţi tradiţionali finlandezi din

Tampere. De la fereastră Maria şi João au

văzut un elicopter zburănd deasupra lui

Näsijärvi……….

In this helicopter the children saw that, as well

as the pilot, there was someone climbing down

a rope ladder. Suddenly, this person dropped

herself down into the water.

Maria and João: Oh no! Come on, we must

rescue her or she’ll drown!

They used a net and when they managed to

pull it up to the surface; they saw a big ice

cube.

João: Hey Maria, look at this. Something

really strange is going on.

Maria: Wow! In the ice, there is a woman of

mixed race wearing a blue dress with red and

yellow flowers printed on it. She looks as if shecomes from a distant island.

João: Hold on, I have an idea…

He went back and made his Fin-

nish black sausages very hot

then put them on the ice, which

quickly melted. They discovered

the face of the mixed race

woman, who looked strangely

like Anne Boleyn!

As soon as she managed to

open her mouth she said:

Uimiţi se uitau cum o femeie cobora pe

o scară. Brusc, această femeie şi-a dat drumul

în apă. Maria şi João s-au grăbit să o salveze.

Au folosit o plasă şi în timp ce o ridicau la

suprafaţă au văzut un cub mare de gheaţă. În

interior era o femeie plină de sânge cu o rochie

albastră cu flori roşii şi galbene. Părea că vine

de pe o insulă îndepărtată.

João a avut o idee. S-a întors şi a luat cârnaţii

fierbinţi şi i-a pus pe gheaţa care s-a topit

repede. Ei au descoperit faţa unei femei caresemăna mult cu Anne Boleyn. De îndată ce a

putut sa deschidă gura, ea a zis: ...

Anne Boleyn: Who are you? Where am I?Maria and João: We are Maria and João, two good friends. Weare above The Black Sea, near Constantza, a city in Romania.Anne Boleyn: How do you know that?

Maria and João: Well, the map of Romania looks like a bunch of flowers. There aremountains, hills, plateaus and fields. The bunch has its stems in The Black Sea.

Anne Boleyn: What about the pelicans and the swans around us? Where do they lead us?Maria and João: To a magic place - The Danube Delta, the fishes and birds’ paradise. Anne Boleyn: Are we going there?

Maria and João: Yes, we are. We have some good friends in Constantza. Here they are!

The children from “Gheorghe Titeica” School. They are waiting for us on “Bricul Mircea”,which is a ship.Led by the birds and surrounded by friends, the three travellers found out many facts aboutthe Romanians’ history and about the beautiful traditional folk costumes. In the Danube Delta they danced a Romanian chain dance dressed in traditional peasantblouses and wearing traditional leather shoes. While dancing a Dobrudjan chain dance, called“Geampara” the three travellers were taken by a flying carpet…….

Anne Boleyn: Cine sunteţi? Maria şi João: Suntem Maria şi João , doi buni prieteni. Ne aflăm deasupra Mării

Negre, aproape de oraşul Constanţa, aflat în România. - De unde ştiţi acest lucru?

- Harta României seamănă cu un buchet de flori. Această ţară are munţi , dealuri, podişuri şi câmpii. Buchetul este aşezat cu codiţele în Marea Neagră. - Dar pelicanii şi lebedele din jurul nostru unde ne cheamă? - Într -un loc magic, un paradis al păsărilor şi peştilor, Delta Dunării. - Mergem şi noi acolo? - Mergem. Avem în Constanţa nişte prieteni buni, copiii de la Şcoala “GheorgheŢiteica”. Iată-i! Ne aşteaptă cu nava şcoală “Bricul Mircea”

Călăuziţi de păsări şi înconjuraţi de prieteni cei trei călători află despre trecutul istorical românilor, despre frumuseţea portului popular românesc.

În deltă, s-au prins într -o horă româneas-că, îmbrăcaţi cu ii şiîncălţaţi cu opinci. În timp

ce se învârteau într -ogeampara dobrogeană, aufost luaţi de uncovor zburător…

Maria and João: Oh no! I hope we don’t fall off

this carpet. Don’t look down...

Anne Boleyn: I wonder where we are going

now?

The pleasant journey, which started from the Da-

nube Delta, finished in Istanbul. They enjoyed the

view of Istanbul from one of the hills on which

the town was situated.

At that moment, they noticed a man who looked

half human and half bird.

João: Look over there at the top of that tower.

What kind of strange creature is that?

Maria: He looks like a man, but are those wings

coming from his back?

He let himself down from the tower of Galata. As

they looked in amazement at the man, they wit-

nessed that he succeeded in flying and they could-

n’t believe their eyes. They learnt that the man

was Hazerfen Ahmet Çelebi who had managed to

fly with artificial wings that he had made.

When Anne Boleyn saw that man, she strangely

likened this man to her daughter in terms of what

they had done for their countries.

Anne Boleyn: I wish I had more time

to see what was happening in the

world.

Whilst trying to decide the last place

that she could visit, her thoughts

were interrupted by the shouts of

the children. When she turned her

head to see what Maria and João

Maria and João: Oh, nu! Sper să nu

cădem de pe covor. Nu te uita în jos!

Anne Boleyn: Mă întreb unde mergem acum.

Plăcuta călătorie care a început în Delta Dunării s

-a terminat în Istanbul. Ei s-au bucurat de

privelişte de pe unul din dealurile pe care este

situate oraşul.

În acel moment au observat un bărbat care părea

jumătate om, jumătate pasăre.

João: Uită-te în vârful acelui turn. Ce creatură

ciudată este aceea?

Maria: Seamănă cu un om, dar aripile acelea ies

din spatele lui?

Omul îşi luă zborul de pe turnul Galata. Copiii se

uitau uimiţi la omul care zbura şi nu le venea săcreadă. Ei au aflat că omul era Hazerfen Ahmet

Çelebi, care reuşise să-şi construiască nişte aripi

artificiale cu care zbura.

Când Anne Boleyn l-a văzut pe acel om, ea l-a

comparat cu fiica ei, gândindu-se la ceea ce

realizaseră cei doi pentru ţările lor.

Anne Boleyn: Aş vrea să fi avut mai mult timp să

fi văzut ce se mai întâmplă în lume.

În timp ce se gândea la ultimul loc pe care puteasă-l viziteze gândurile îi fură tulburate de

strigătele copiilor. Întorse capul să vadă la ce se

uitau copiii şi…

She saw a herd of bulls.

João: Where are they going?

Maria: I’ve no idea, but right now we might have bigger problems. That man with wings is going to land next to

us!

Hazerfen Ahmet Celebí: Don’t be afraid. Do you want

to fly with me to see where the bulls are going?

So Hazerfen Ahmet Celebí rode them on his wings and

they followed the animals.

Soon they arrived at a fortified city on the shore of the

Mediterranean Sea, it was called Melilla. Hazerfen left

them in a house where Sir Pedro de Estopiñan lived.

The house was

decorated with

many armors

and amphoras.

María and João

told Pedro de

Estopiñan all

their

adventures

whilst theywere having a

cup of tea and

some biscuits.

But, although

they were

having a good

time, they told him that they wanted to go back home.

João: Thank you for the tea and biscuits. We have

really enjoyed ourselves but now I am feeling a bit tired.

I’d like to go home now. Sir Pedro: Well I have a ship in the harbour, come with

me and I’ll sail you all home.

Sir Pedro boarded them on his ship and they sailed

across the Strait of Gibraltar to Oporto.

However, when the children arrived at Vila Nova de

Gaia and they came to the front door of their school,

they awoke from their wonderful dream and everything

disappeared, including Anne Boleyn and the Ghost.

Maria: N-am nicio idée. Dar acum cred că avem

probleme mai mari. Omul acela cu aripi va ateriza

lângă noi!

Hazerfen Ahmet Celebí: Nu vă temeţi! Vreţi să

zburaţi cu mine să vedeţi unde se duc taurii? Şi Hazerfen Ahmet Celebí îi luă în spate şi urmăriră

animalele.

În curând ajunseră la un oraş fortificat de pe ţărmul

Mării Mediterane, numit Mellila. Hazerfen i-a lăsat

într -o casă în care locuia Sir Pedro de Estopiñan.

Casa era decorată cu multe armuri şi amfore. María

and João i-au povestit lui Pedro de Estopiñan toate

aventurile lor în timp ce beau o cana de ceai şi

mâncau biscuiţi.

Dar, deşi ses i m ţ e a u

foarte bine i-

au spus că

vor să se

î n t o a r c ă

acasă.

J o ã o :

M u l ţ u m i m

pentru ceai şi biscuiţi. Ne-

am simţit

foarte bine,

dar acum mă

simt cam

obosit şi aş

vrea să mergem acasă.

Sir Pedro: Eu am un vapor în port. Haideţi să

mergem şi vă voi duce pe toţi acasă.

Sir Pedro i-a îmbarcat pe toţi şi au navigat prinStrâmtoarea Gibraltarului până în Porto.

Dar, când copiii au sosit în Vila Nova de Gaia şi au

ajuns în faţa uşii şcolii lor, s-au trezit din

minunatul lor vis şi totul a dispărut, inclusiv Anne

Boleyn şi fantoma.
