BIX CITIZEN, Business Intelligence Experience for Health, is active in the Digital Healthcare area.

Our Software as a Service solution performs remote monitoring of patients’ vital signs, for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of chronic diseases. Sensed raw data captured from multi-vendor electronic medical devices is robustly, securely and anonymously transmitted to the Azure cloud via our Health IT sensor gateway (a device). After being analyzed, data can trigger patient alerts which are related to chronic disease prevention and early detection.

We started the idea when none of us had the expertise on plant science. Before having a team of horticulturists and biologists, we were just a group of tech guys and designers trying to eat better vegetables grown in our houses with an App and some controls. Couch is a platform that aggregates and puts in contact psychologists and the people who need their help, so they can have video consults online.

It saves time, money, is comfortable and helps to deal with stigma. In addition to clinical psychology, we also have organizational psychology that deals with career management and career improvement. We are also launching our Chat bot, which is the first one for mental health screening in the country.

We got a 15K Euros grant from StartupBootcamp Digital Health Berlin for 6% of the company.We’re raising a pre-seed round of 150K Euros.

We have a partnership with NoBullying, that redirects users to our services. We’re focusing on building as much meaningful partnerships with community groups as possible. We’re working on partnerships with universities, insurance companies, health groups and big companies, so that they have access to a voucher discount system in our services.

We were accelerated at StartupBootcamp Digital Health Berlin. We also won months of acceleration at Fábrica de Startups, as a prize.

During 2017, we’ll test our internationalization to the Brazilian market in a very lean way, by selling the services of Brazilian psychologists living in Portugal to Brazilian users. Five years from now, it will be normal to have a consultation through our computers and tablets, and we’ll have expanded to other countries and areas of healthcare. For 4 months, 4 people lived in the same one bedroom apartment in Berlin, to save as much money as possible in ‘unnecessary’ costs. That’s part of our story and that’s how the true meaning of the word “team” was forged in our company. We learned that in a startup team, all businesses have to have a B2B component, that in this case means ‘Back to Back’!

Cuckuu is an iOS and Android free mobile app. For us, everything people want to share is like a Christmas present: we allow them to choose a specific moment in time when they want to share it and when it will happen, but people will never know what is inside until the right time.

Unlike any other social network, anticipation is the key that Cuckuu uses to turn trivial moments into something that people will never forget, by making sure the experience is shared by everyone at the same time.

We have raised around 900k USD from a Business Angel in the UK and in Portugal

We partnered with Benfica, Fitness Hut and several big YouTubers in Portugal. This helped us a lot to acquire users and to open doors with other brands to partner with us.

We have been virtually incubated at Startup Lisboa and are also very involved with Beta-i and ANJE

Helppier is all about going beyond the traditional online customer service.

Our intelligent online support tool enables companies to easily create interactive step-by-step user guides, as tutorials and tooltips, without the need of any programming or coding skills. Infraspeak is a maintenance management platform, developed to make the life and work of facility managers and technical assistants easier. SWORD Health is a healthcare startup that is reinventing physical rehabilitation by bringing the patient to the center of its rehabilitation.

With SWORD Phoenix, patients can do as many rehabilitations as they want, independently, but always accompanied by our Digital Therapist that monitors and guides them through their sessions. Their results and improvements are monitored and analyzed by our clinical team that tailors each program to the needs of each patient, creating a personalized program.

SWORD Health was considered by the European Commission as one of the most innovative companies in Europe. As a result, we received an investment grant of €900k from the European Commission as well as €800k from private investors: Change Partners, BrainTrust and New Ventures.

We have established partnerships with key players in the US market: the first, Genesis Rehab Services is the largest rehabilitation chain, operating in more than 2000 facilities within its network; the second, LHC Group, provides care in more than 40,000 homes each month. Another relevant partnership is with Direct Supply, the largest distributor of medical devices for senior living, which will be our distributors in the US market.

Trigger.Systems develops efficient, sustainable and intelligent solutions using the most recent technology. We developed a platform that can remotely and automatically control and relate different equipment with distinct applications, using artificial intelligence models.

Startup Braga makes part of a huge network of partners, enlarged by the signing of protocols with the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, Hospital de Braga and School of Health Science of Universidade do Minho.

Nowadays, Startup Braga is supporting 80 startups, in partnership with Microsoft Ventures, exclusive for only 20 accelerators in the world, providing access to many resources of an international network composed by 52 Microsoft Ventures partners.

Startup Madeira is an incubator center in Madeira island, under the supervision of the Regional Secretariat of Economy, Tourism and Culture – SRETC.

This incubator is the entity responsible for the dynamism of entrepreneurship, innovation and knowledge protection.

Since its foundation in 1997, Startup Madeira helps entrepreneurs and startups in the development and expansion of their businesses. The incubation of companies and the continuous realization of programs of entrepreneurship and innovation are part of the strategy of the company. Startup Madeira also acts as a facilitator and point of contact for the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, with national and international partners. Startup Madeira is part of the european network of business and innovation centres. On a national level, all BICS are connected to BICS - Associação dos Centros de Empresa e Inovação Portugueses. We are also part of the recently created National Incubators Network.

Taguspark was created in 1992 by government initiative as the key component of an integrated plan involving 360 hectares, 150 of which are occupied by the Park. With the mission of promoting an urban and dynamic environment as well as the interaction between companies, R&D institutions and universities, Taguspark stimulates innovation and creativity for a knowledge economy. Located in Oeiras, it is still today the biggest Science and Technology Park in Portugal. Taguspark Incubator promotes entrepreneurship, innovation and the creation of startups. Several international companies benefit from privileged access to R&D institutions as well as access to the most prestigious Portuguese engineering university, Instituto Superior Técnico, which has a campus at Taguspark.

Taguspark is often the place of multiple general interest events, namely related to science and technology that allow enormous networking opportunities.

Vodafone Power Lab is an accelerator for innovative startups, located both in Lisbon and in Porto, with a duration from 6 months up to one year.

The tech projects that are incubated here will get free access to co-working spaces, mentoring sessions and support for go-to-market strategies.

The goal is to help drive potential startups to improve relevant industries in the Telco market, through value creation, using Vodafone’s technological platforms.
