Human society civilization originated in the river culture. The humansocial development has accumulated river culture,and the life of riverculture has been promoted social development . River culture as a kind of human culture,a type of civilization, had been perceived for a long historical period,people called it " the river civilization ". People lived and multiplied near the water.

Nowadays, with the development of civilization, urban scale becomes bigger and bigger,rivers drying up, lake shrinking,Water has been polluted,it has changed into daily supplies and industrial raw materials.Cultural memory attached to it has gradually disappeared.Opportunities for communication between people are increasingly scarce , while the human spirit culture gradually lacks of quiet and peaceful of water. As the outward migration of the urban population,many urban space become barren,use value and experiential valuegradually weakened,deviated from the original form of city life , so we use urban river to establish a full set of floating urban space,in order to touch the heart of the city,as to revitalize it.

Project introduction

The city project consists of two parts: floating plates and the raft houses.Urban functional areas use the core area to contact with each other and spread its influence scope.

Designers put this program in Handan ,HebeiProvince. There 's a FuYang r iver throughout the city . Rivers o r i g i n a t e i n F e n g f e n g Mining village in Handan C i ty,Ta ihang Mounta in . There are the old city public spaces and urban green spaces near the coast of the design,however there are barriers between them. So we set it near the river park and along the river downtown.

Archetype


The banpo site is the Huanghe river basin is a typical matriarchal clan settlement site of yangshao culture in the neolithic ,dating back 5600-6700 years . The site is found in the spring of 1953 and the area of site 50000 square meters . From September 1954 to the summer of 1957, the archaeology institute of the Chinese academy of sciences organized nearly 200 archaeological workers, who has digged five times and for nearly four years, the area of their revealing site is 10000 square meters . And they get a large number of precious scientific data. Housing remains which they found were 45,and the circle bar were 2,cellar hole were more than 200, pottery kiln were 6, 250 tombs (of which 174 adult tombs,73 children urns ) as well as the tools of production and living appliances.

Raft houses: the designers try to make the appearance of scroll which around the river. The public space organically dispersed around the urban rivers , meanwhile contact them through the floating plate. Public spaces everywhere,can be used as a node,remotivating the nearby city which declined gradually,adding to the entetainment leisure, exhibitions,cul-tural performances,and other functions, in order to further reduce the dis-tance between people and restore memories in people's mind and innocence.

B a m b o o r a f t , a l s o c a l l e d bamboo,which made of banded bamboo,is a water transportation in the mountain and water area , it is popular in southern Yangtze area . It has a long history, and it has its own position in the history of the development of the boats and ships . A bamboo raft with real bamboo and thorn bamboo tied together.The small rafts are made of 5 ~ 8 bamboo rafts,large are made of 11 ~ 16 general bamboo raft is three feet length and several feet width .The thick end of bamboo can be made the head of raft which cocked high , finend can be made the end of the raft which tiles on the river.

Floating plates: the designers extract the prototype from the production of bamboo rafts and weaving method and recombine them organically .The design of single floating plate is to meet the needs of two people lying and siting . And single floating plate can be ass-embled by end to end or other method,which becoming available for gatherings , temporary shelters and other multifunctional space .When a floating plate drift in the city rivers,people can feel a new experience which the time and the space are moving perpetually.

Handan is the ancient capital of Zhao, the township of Chinese idiom and the cradle of Yang TaiChi. Through the analysis of the Handan culture, we can make architectural design that meets Handan cultural identity and local characteristics.The design not only meet the functional requirements of urban transport, but also in line with local cultural characteristics.

Large number of people gathered at the station in the city, the station is obviously like a bridge to the outside world, so the effects of space inside and outside the statio direct- -ly affects the direct feelings of travelers and their mood in the trip.

The urban transport plays a vital role in the city development, it can find and solve urban traffic problems, and has great responsibility with thearchitectural design. Bus Terminal is the heart of the city, it is important for relieving urban traffic and people stress, so the design is undertaking the mission entrusted by the city.

Base location is located in the northeast of Handan City, standing in a corner of the city, it controls the evacuation of large numbers of people in the city, and surrounding environment is decisive factor which ensure good growth of the building.

Urban fabric of each city is different, they have their own special genus texture, texture continues to grow and evolve, so when you design, you should make a design which accord to growth law of the unban fabric and texture elements of feature inherent laws, they construct the new urban fabric together and make contribution to city of development.

Enlarge the area to observe the figure ground relationship between the base and ground-like surrounding buildings and to make association level between the various parts of the building, through these factors, we can design the building here.

Conception

The whole building is desgined as the origin bionic architecture ,through enclosing complex surfaces to create an internal space. We combine structure and body of internal spatial together .Whether living inside and outside the building, we could feel the unique charm which the building brings. Overall shape of buildings such as petals, it's a symbol of beauty and vitality. The facade of the arc scatter, which is like the waves in general, symbolizes a strong driving force. Combination of wave and petals perfectly express beauty and dynamism of the building , meanwhile it endow the building a more profound meaning.

1.flow of the vehicleNorth of the base is Handan North Loop Road, it is a fast road, we consider that the speed of the vehicles is fast and it should not be set up traffic lights. To satisfy that the vehicles of the station can enter into the road quickly, so we set up the exit in the north and set up the entrance in the south. Then we set up five-meters green belt between the road near the entrance and square to meet the appropriate regulatory requirement. Flow of inbound and outbound vehicles do not intersect, so it does not affect each other, so that it can maximize the station's functionality.2.flow of the passengersWe set up the two main entrance in the main facade of the building and set up the hall between waiting room and ticket office,passeng- -ers can choose a suitable route according to their own circumstan- -ces. We separate flow of staff from flow of passengers to avoid mutual interference.

The program use the curved surface as the main elements ,through a combination of organic different surfaces, the building is full of dynamic beauty. Different curvatures of arc increase the diversity of the building facade. When people are walking outdoors, they will observe various changes of the curved surface and get an unexpected surprise.

Life + nature = architecture1.The program uses modular treatment to detail the elements of the grid and the general amount of founder of space and it use internal space in the convenient premise to create a rich and varied exterior lighting effects.2.This design is consistent with the planned construction philosophy, emphasizing the garden-style architectural concept, while providing internal shared green space, both indoor and roof-dimensional layers of garden and sun terrace.

·Function and flow line analysis

Through color analysis chart in the horizontal andvertical can bemore intuitive understanding of the design features of this scheme.

Roof gardens arranged to natural sunlight as a leisure area, scattered mesh ceiling lighting effects bring great pleasure of the patient's body and mind.

Ward sun terrace and large windows give the room a good ventilation and lighting in order to comfort.

Traffic nuclear arranged around the a t r i um, a t the same t ime easilyaccessible to traffic light and airyspace has brought the possibility of a beautiful green atrium also gave rise to a sense of pleasure.

Hospital clinic space function is clear,clear traffic, in line with the psychological demands of patients.

Roof arranged roof garden, lots of greenery and scattered light and good ventilation for the elderly, provides a very comfortable leisure space.

Each of the two layer is provided with a piece of sunshine area provide sun activities for theelderly, but also for the upstairs downstairs neighbors to provide space for the exchange of.

Staff houses arranged on the tail of space on the southwest side of the main function of the elderly apartment,separated by a space.

Old apartment entrances facing the sun obviously, secondary entrance toward the street to meet the old psychology.

Service room is in the opposite of suite, give suites more light as possible, at the same time function for the elderly to provide convenient.

Design Concept: plant has been able to win the arts and culture and creative industries of all ages, because of industrial buildings and landscape,which can accommodate a variety of non-routine activities, provide an unusual experience for the creation and design of the artist's personality. Old building is a historical and stories, as it adds new material elements and ideas, to bring a non-material space atmosphere, creating a unique sense of place, this is a new building design can not bring .

Design Notes: Modern college campuses old industrial plant construction has both the main building rugged, highly flexible space, large body construction, demolition or new big impact on the environment characteristics,but also has a practical design and industrial aesthetic value characteristics,which its transformation or rebirth will also have an important impact on the campus environment.The activity center is designed to free up more space for teachers and students psychophysiological, at the entrance to adopt the principle of compromise, leaving a large area of the square, which increases the affinity of the building and the environment, reduced pressure on the surrounding environment.

An building which should be abandoned, because of the art and creativity , the building can glow its youth and vitality which it never had, we use the cultural gathering area of these old plants to do some cultural creative industries, such as artistic creation, design, presentation and exchange of information technology, so that it can become the new engine of development of the city's economic, and also play an incomparable role in shaping the image of the city. These alterations make historical culture of the old industrial buildings take on the new social functions in the modern life,it not only can make contribution to the protection of the old industrial buildings, but also promote the development of certain areas of cultural life.

The main features of the community are adding the natural factor into modern style, and using a series of elements and materials to reflect the characteristics of the community.

The wooden rack combines w i t h t h e t r a n d i t i o n a l elements, so that the whole community can reflect simple beauty in the modern sense.

The window of the buildings are made of steel material and clear color glass.

The door of the community is located in both sides of the city's main roads, it's very convenient for pedestrians and vehicles.R o o f o f t h e g a t e i s supported four columns, their material are both wood, along with the glass, which embody the style of whole communi ty which means close to nature.

By introducing gallery as bridges to the Mid-lake Pavilion,which is wooden six corner pavilion, therefore all the tranditional elements is before our eyes.

Wooden corridor is combined by wooden grids, people can have a rest under the rack and enjoy the scenery and the cool air, it is very comfortable.

The corridor is arranged around the surrounding buildings, it is 1/4 round fan corridor, the material of the corridor is combined by wood and stone.

The rectangular soild combine with the wooden grille and stone form the whole corridor.

The grain of the tranditional wooden grid is not only econmical and environmental,but also hamonious with the surrounding trees.

The north of the community is central landscape pond, it's the landscape which shows the wooden bridge connect two opposite shore.

Go through the main door, landscape sequence begins from the rectangular pool.

In the center of the block, there is step square, which can be the climax of the landscape. It inherit the past and usher in the future.

The landscape is broken by the path which is in front of the building, so people will have not given full expression to the view.

Peeping through the buildings, we can have a feeling of taking a turn for the better. The landscape which is the back of the buildings is blue water and green trees.So that every landscape squence form a whole.

We use Wuan's famous Tai Chi culture as the culture factor of landscape, so we utilize the circular arc of Tai Chi as the main element and create the landscape node by using cultural connotation which contains that three begets all the things and the one about ceaseless.

C i r c u l a r e l e m e n t s i s everywhere in the area, such as circular Tai Chi square, the circular pool on the corner of the commercial street, the circular table on the grass etc,they are the embodiment of the Wuan's Tai Chi Culture i n t h e h u m a n i z e d a n d naturalized community.
