The project starts from an urban scale to end in a careful designing of the interior of the homes and shops. The analysis of the city starts from the concept of the SHRINKING CITY, which is the parallel aspect of the more famous phe-nomenon of SPRAWL TOWN.

The city of BOLOGNA, in Italy, presents the same characteristics of other cities as Barce-lona, Marseilles, London and more, where a lot of areas have become “DISUSED AREAS”. My project try to insert itself in this disposal, pointing at a fast, economical and istantaneous reuse of the adandoned buldings, through an URBAN TEMPORARY STRATEGY.

THE TEMPORARINESS ensures the satisfac-tion of the popolation’s needs, of the city and the neighborhood, overturning the pyramide ADMINISTRATION-CITIZEN and creating a more active citizen, who has the possibility to work and live with low prices.

in the past 20 years Bologna has knew a mo-vement by the inhabitants towards the towns of the “second belt” due to the rise of life’s quality and of course due to the cost of life. More and more often people can’t find a solu-tion affordable and they move away along the mainly roads east-west, north-south. The situation is caused by the movement of the factories outside the city and the incentive of tertiary, which it’s not connected with the place where is settled. In the next page there’s the indentification of the disused areas, military, railway and indu-strial.

After an analysis of ll the disused areas we choose PRATI DI CAPRARA EST, a military base which can be used immediately and is near a new station of the train. The project is based on the construction of shops, ateliers and a coworking on the groundfloor, all in wood and construible in 8 hour with less money than permanent bulding. All these structures will be build inside the bul-dings in the military base, without changing it. If the administration will find this project use-ful will keep it, if not, it will disassemble it. So the small buildings will be TEMPORARY.

The military post “SANI” has been abandoned for years, it has inside many ABANDONED BUILDINGS, some in very good condition. Its vegetation is prosperous and the post is located in a prime location, between “Via Fer-rarese” and “Via Stalingrado”, two of the city’s main arteries which convey traffic toward the north. This area is in the trasformation’s plan of the administration and its neighborhood is very MULTI-ETHNIC.

The project aims to combine “THE OLD WITH THE NEW”, as aims to combine the ethnic group in the neighborhood, Italian and not Italian, within this bulding, making it a pla-ce where you can exchange point of views and you can exhibit your own art, or listen to con-certs, or simply visit.

The buldings of the project are two and the di-stance between them is just few metres. The goal is to connect them keeping, the function separated.

SILOS Permanent and temporary exhibition

The Silos was once used to convey food. Its verticality gives the opportu-nity to build an ART GALLERY inside and a museum, where the path to the top is made by RAMPS which pass between the pillars and enter in the open rooms without roof, which contain the works of art.

Keeping a portion of the existing building (the canteen and residences of the military), the concept of the second building is based on “throwing boxes” which contain functions. A large space in the middle of the stairs houses which distribute to various multifunctional areas: a kindergarten, a bar, a museum, a theater. The second floor is connected with the silos to make the experience of crossing continues. The covering is made of perforated metal to counteract the surface of the old buildings.

“El jardin griego” of Barcelona is a garden that extends on a drop of nearly 40 metres and it’s located from the base of the montain Montjuic and Plaza de Espanya. The park was built in occasion of the International Exposition of 1929. This represents a piece of history of Barcelona, with the greek theatre dag into the rock, the pergolas and the gardens. The main street which goes down is characte-rized by low cost housing typical of the district where it’s located, Poble Sec.

The project aims to extend this GREEK GAR-DEN and it tries to extend the “garden” also in the street that goes down. Or else the hole of the theatre is extended trying to build an ARCHITECTURE DAG IN THE GROUND, on several levels, and each level contain a garden.

Near “l’ampolla”, a village near Barcelona, there are blankets of olive trees. The project aims to built a house for a PIANIST. The pia-nist has some wishes, and the house tries to answer these wishes: a contact with the OLI-VE TREES, a contact with the LAND, but he also wants to see the SEA, not far away. He would like to accomodate some friends and give concerts, but he also would like to keep some privacy in this “public house”, where he actually lives.

The project is generated by the land, so he fol-lows the counter lines that you can also see pretty well live, thanks to the terraces, and it go down along the slope. The three parts of the bulding open themesel-ves on the short side and they inflect due to the steepness. It’s imporant the relation between them: in fact, the gardens serve as mediators between the various parts of the house, which is accessed from the top. In order to emphasi-ze the relationship with its surroundings, there are three piers, which are no more than three opened corridors toward the view of the sea. The piers exceed the limits of the building and look out to the olive field.

HOUSING FOR THE PARAHOLIMPICS OF LONDON 2012

The project’s aim is to resolve ACCESSI-BILITY problems for people bearing physi-cal handicaps, by creating a space designed around them, while building a form of housing with a REDUCED POWER CONSUMPTION, putting to use all of the new and best known techniques and following the exposition rules. The building starts from the 150 cm x 150 cm base MODULE, the minimum dimensions for wheelchairs to move. And then their multiples and sub-multiples. Both the plant and the vo-lume are facing west, where the river on which these little buildings are located, to allow the gathering of light and heath.South of the builging there is a greenhouse and beneath of that a water tank, to allow water to be reused. The GREENHOUSE is an impor-tant technological mean for the reutilization of the stocked heath that is then brought around the rest of the house by using a system of pi-pes.The architectonic composition is made to al-low the building to keep being used after the ending of the Olympic Games, and results in the compenetration of a trapezium and a squa-re, both in plant and in height.

[1]The project aims to build a garden inside an big park located in Hamburg. The theme is the “WATER”. The garden is intended as a filter between the lake and the river of the park. The still water commemorates the lake and wants to create the necessary tranquility to ac-company the journey inside the garden.Instead inside the garden is created a gradient in order to increase the “isolation” of persons within the “URBAN OASIS” and to create a waterfall; in that way the SOUND of the water can isolate people from the city. The sinuous shape is sought to remember so-mething natural, while the trees are chosen for their shape: one for its shade, the other to cre-ate visual filters.

Selinunte is a village in the province of Trapa-ni, in Sicily. It was once a Greek city, for this reason is famous for the ACROPOLIS and the remains. In addition to these architectural beauties, Se-linunte has an interesting historic center and a river park almost UNTOUCHED.The project therefore born from the lines of the GROUND and tries to create an elementwith shapes that recall the broken lines, with a lightweight wood structure and coverings such as curtains or fabrics, so it can be manufactu-red at a LOW COST directly from local com-panies .

The lamp, at first sight simple, born from the union of three famous lamps: the classic lamp tower, the classica lamp IKEA, multifunctional, the lamps of the new artists, at first sight cum-bersome. This lamp fact four configurations and it’s ideal for the lightnign of an ART GAL-LERY, which can hoste events or exhibition or different situations:

1_TURNED OFF: the lamp is covered with mirrors which can reflect the light of the place where isf

2_3_LIGHT WIDESPREAD: Opening it out, the light is blocked by a frosted glass that spreads it more evenly in the environment. The light that can be modulated in the direction of opening one or two doors.

4_DIRECT LIGHT: Useful if you decide to il-luminate paintings or other exposures. By tur-ning the boxes present by 90 °, the lamp will be free from the container. The light of each box may be adjusted depending on the height of the framework in order to vary the luminance level and illuminate the eventual panel.
