Yeah, I mean, who knows when youll get another chance to wear it? Maybe by that time,

YOUR aunt will have something more in-style than what you have now! Having said that, hefinished the rest of his drink, You look bored. Lets dance.

Before she could utter a word, he took her hand and pulled her to the dance floor. She was too

shocked to resist, and wouldnt have resisted even if she hadn't been. She liked his spontaneity,

that Dirac delta function-like impulsiveness being strangely attractive to her.

They danced the night away, from the more refined waltz to the more popular grinding. With the

amount of torque and heat transfer between the two, it would seem as if there was enough energygenerated to power the entire hotel.

(In case the reader is suddenly questioning the engineering credentials of the author, he would

again like to emphasize the phrase it would seem as if. The amount of energy produced persecond, by two people, averaged out over an entire day, would only be able to light up two 100

watt light bulbs for the day.)

Wow, I need to catch my breath, Carrie gasped.

Lets get some fresh air, Jim suggested.

Jim and Carrie walked hand-in-hand to the balcony; the crisp dry air surrounded their bodies and

    allowed evaporative cooling to occur.

Look at the lights! Theyre so pretty! Carrie exclaimed at the night view of Toronto, shimmering like broken glassware on the black Lash Miller laboratory floor.

Well, you havent seen the brightest lights tonight yet, Ill be back in a second, Jim said anddashed back into the building.

Once he was out of sight, he pulled out a mysterious black vial. Sex Panther by Odeon: 60% ofthe time, it works every time. No one could truly appreciate the process that went into thesynthesis of this potent cologne besides a chemical engineer. The collection of exotic herbs and

actual panther tissues, each double-distilled and filtered, with only the best essence from eachraw product extracted. The carefully conditioned mixing with stoichiometric portions, done insmall batch processes according to a secret formula and aged to perfection, was what made it an

aromatic masterpiece. Its use was so controversial, in fact, that it was banned in nine countries.

Having taken statistics, Jim was no gambler and knew that a 60% chance was nothing to make an

investment on. But, like all good engineers, he also knew that oftentimes, you had to be able tolook beyond the numbers.

He walked up quietly behind a preoccupied Carrie, still mesmerized by the city lights.

Im back, Jim said after turning her around by the shoulders, with one of his arms nowcradling her back as she leaned against the railing.

    Comment [M4]: Charming, Tom. Good

Comment [M5]: To view life through

    the eyes of an engineer!

Carrie looked into Jims eyes, and upon smelling that powerful scent saw two sparks of light

appear. He hadnt been lying; they were as bright as the sun. Jim and Carrie had good chemistrywith each other right from the start, but if there were any factors that lowered the activation

barrier to their upcoming exothermic reaction, the cologne would be the catalyst.

Suddenly, as if by radio signal transmission, the frequencies of their thoughts matched. They

were now communicating on the same level with the simplest common denominator: theywanted each other.

Jim and Carrie leaned towards each other, and their lips locked like two runaway suction pumpsdue to malfunctioned feedback control loops. Their hearts were pumping quickly, and the blood

coursing through their bodies seemed to be under turbulent flow from the speed of its surging.

Were going somewhere more comfortable, come with me, Jim broke off from their embrace

and took Carries hand just as he did before at the dance floor. She was eager to follow.

They headed up to a hotel room, and in record time their clothes were scattered randomly allover the room as per the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

They dived onto the bed and continued where they left off at the balcony. They felt each other all

over, subconsciously admiring the contours that seemed to have been ergonomically engineeredspecifically for each others comfort by a higher power.

Jim had prepared for this night well; he had liqueur, lubrication, contraceptives, and the wholenine yards. He grabbed a condom from the nightstand, put it on, and carefully inserted his pipeinto her flange. Like a single cylinder engine, they moved back and forth against each other in

deep but rapid strokes, the friction between them only a mere percentage of inefficiency to theirtotal positive physical stimulation.

As they approached the maximum point of their excitement function with respect to time, Jimand Carrie increased their grip on each other like vises being tightened in Paul Jowlabars labconstruction projects. Jim gasped, reached climax, and concluded with the output of hisreproductive essence. Carrie sighed with satisfaction as if finishing an easy final exam.

As he pulled out his member from inside her, he was suddenly struck with horror. The condomhad ruptured. He really should have taken the precaution to use the lubrication, but now it is toolate; he may very well be paying for child support in a year.

Understanding his facial expression, Carrie laughed.

What, do you think Im an idiot? Of course I would be on the pill for a night like this! I got my

Iron Ring too, you know, she raised the pinky of her right hand and waved it in front of him. Iknow all about safety, Carrie assured Jim.

Ah yes, Jim recalled, the layers of protection in engineering as taught by Professor Norval. Who

would have thought that he would be saved by this concept at a time and place like this?

Comment [M6]: A bit risqu here Tom

Probably too explicit for the postscript.

You know,Ive never actually gotten your name, Carrie continued.

Jim, nice to meet you, Jim said and smiled.

Carrie, nice to meet you too, Carrie smiled back.

    Oh, I know.
