There is a very strange social phenom-enon widespread in Asian society. The strange phenomenon is about that people tend to obsess with other country’s subculture and claim that they love everything from the country they obsessed with. Which may in fact they do not understand the country very well. In Taiwan, most of this condition is “Japanification“or “The Korean wave“. The concept is to show the phenom-enon by a little bit of sarcasm. A virtual Rock idol CD album presents the absurdity of this phenomenon in the way of having a ridiculous CD copywriter with wrong for-eign language grammar. Rock star or pop idols usually have enthusiastic fans, which

is very similar to the strange condition.

In the Taiwanese traditional festival - the lantern Fastival , Sky lanterns are believed that they can sent people’s wishes to the god or the spirits of the loved ones. They are traditionally constructed from oiled rice paper on a bamboo frame, and contain a small candle or fuel cell composed of a waxy flammable material. When lit, the flame heats the air inside the lantern, thus lowering its density causing the lantern to rise into the air. The boat in the picture is the boat form a Taiwanese Traditional Festivals, the boat burning Festival.Boat burning Festival is an event which is believed bring spirit to Sukhavati, the heaven of Buddha. The project tries to discuss about how the ”ANIME-like” aesthetic standard affect the representation of women in society.

First, I came up with a scrip, then make costumes and then dress up turn myself in to a original or non original ANIME character. This is a long tern project which I’ve doing this about once a month for several years. Every photo-shoot represents a story with Fantasies or adventures. Though being dressed up like ANIME charac-ters so many times, I tried to figure out how is the ”ANIME-like” aesthetic standard affect the representation of women in society. For example, since large eyes have became a standard look for pretty girls in ANIME, has it effect girls in the reality

world tried to use makeups to make their eyes large as ANIME girls?

The refers to the phenom-enon which Japan tend to design a image character which is a maiden for almost everything. For example, chopsticks and noodles, even Antivi-rus software. The character is wearing a maid costume which represents the most iconic character costume of Japanese ANIME.

This poster is for schoolchildren and kindergarten children. Try to tell children that playing outside, doing other activi-ties is much more interesting and fascinating then watching television. They should leave the television and do something much more fun. The poster will be seen inside ,or outside the school bus. I made strong contrast by graphic of how interesting the life is with out the television and how boring it is when you stare at the television all the time. The only activity of TV-watching person does is changing his pose in front of the television. I use vivid-colored anime-characters to attract children, hook their attraction on the poster. The happy anime-charac-ters make children happy, and make them can’t wait to see what’s in the poster. And then they will find out the vector graphic of a person being a couch potato, have nothing to do but stare at the television. Then they can read the simple headline and then understands the concept easily.

This poster is for the school about reading promotion for children. The mission Statement is to encouraging “reading for pleasure” . For those children who do not like to read because the prefer watching pictures than to read long articles. Use comic style to catch kids’ attention and repre-sent that there are many interest-ing stories in the books just like comic books. And if you read it though you will find that to read a book is as interesting as to know and have fun with a good friend.

Shuo-wen chieh-tzu; literally “Explaining and Analyzing Characters”,often shortened to Shuowen, was an early 2nd century Chinese dictionary from the Han Dynasty. Although not the first comprehensive Chinese character dictionary , it was still the first to analyze the structure of the characters and to give the rationale behind them, as well as the first to use the principle of organization by sections with shared components, called radicals (bùshu , lit. “section headers”).

The Book is about to introduce the very first story of the Eight Immortals to modern readers today. This is the main concept of why the illustra-tion looks like a traditional Chinese illustration in the big picture, but actually the Eight Immortals are presented in a nowadays way like cartoon or comics. The Eight Immortals is a group of legendary saints in Chinese mythology. Each Immortal’s power can be transferred to a power tool that can bestow life or destroy evil. They are revered by the Taoists and are also a popular element in the secular Chinese culture.

Autoportrait

The two points of making my state-ment visualized are the concept of many elements put together became a big picture just like what Pixels do and the contrast of modern and classic. Fisrt, The book ”Autoportrait” is created by many Sentences and sentences. Evan that it seems like every sentence is isolated from each other, but together, it’s all about one thing — a picture of a person, the writer himself. We read the book and we are getting to know this person. This makes Autoportrait a unique book. Many different elements together makes a big picture, which just as same as the universe is like. And I look at the “universe” we stare at everyday — the computer monitor. In this universe, we see so many different things, and they are all created by thousands of tiny ele-ments — pixels. Second, this book looks no different from the other book we see everyday, but when we read it ,we will found that it‘s composition is very different form the others. When we think of a “por-trait” we usually think of traditional oil paintings, which is very realistic. In this monitor universe we see in modern days everyday, portrait can also be created in Pixelization. I think this two aspect connects to each other.
