Design Concept

The remodeled Duncan Residence will be reminiscent of an East Coast air, mixed with cool

color schemes. There will be special layouts toaccomodate each occupant of the home, which will

require some additional attention to transition spacesand to retain some uniformity of design to the home.

The overall color palette will reect ocean and skywith soft beachy browns and natural colors to

supplement and create the relaxing and comfortableatmosphere the Duncan's want for their residence.Interesting patterns will reinforce the color scheme

but allow the design to vary from room to roomto introduce some of the preferences of each

family member in their primary space. Texturesof accessories, trim and niche spaces will utilize

natural ropes, weathered wood and indirectly inspireimages of ocean and sand.

Planning will emphasize the importance of exteriorviews by series of windows to the east and south,

where the landscape images are spectacular. The sizeof the interior will be further enhanced by high or

vaulted ceilings. Particular attention and planning willbe provided with respect to proxemics in order to

simplify living arrangements and interaction for Mary and Katherine. In addition, specic ergonomic

features will simplify life for Katherine Duncan, expanding what she is able to accomplish

independtly in her day to day life around the home.

Design Concept

A newly constructed Johnson Home will immediatelyimpress guests as a perfectly blended mix of color, texture, style, comfort, modern conveniences and

sense of family. Beginning with an underlying theme of 'farmhouse chic', old and new will be blended with

seeming eortlessness. There will be a heavy emphasison dierent but complementary patterns, both traditional and modern. Walls will be warm in

color and include a mix of painting and unique wall pieces and oddities and collectibles, but carefully

chosen to ensure the overall result is elegant and chic.Outside the house, adjacent to the property, lie the

Muncie River and a park. Windows, room and furniture placement will all be considered in how

to take maximum advantage of these beautiful and unique surroundings.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have expressed their desire toremain in this home, 'aging in place' after their

children have moved on. Accordingly, the ergonomics will be carefully considered for their versatility so that

with only few minor adjustments, the Johnson's willbe able to live comfortably in their home in their

later years. At MacLeod Design Consultants, the mission is to provide consistently positive

services in residential settings. The innovative, creative and superior quality of the team will bring

the newest trends to collaborate with existingelements that the property has to oer. The budget

will surely reinforce the luxury that this family seeks, though creating comfortable and relaxing

atmospheres and assuring the homeowners happiness with the design of their home is the

number one goal. The strategically planned design will promote cutting edge modernized country-air

solutions; through the achievement of environmental and Eco-friendly awareness from highly

regarded companies.

The remodeled Xeno Consulting Group headquarterswill display bold transitional pieces and patterns,

created through color and texture.A chic and upscale atmosphere will radiate from

wall to wall while combinations of vibrantwarm colors and cool neutrals balance out one

bay and the design will be mindful of exploiting this exterior panorama and bringing it inside for clients

and sta to appreciate. As the location of the company's headquarters, appropriate attention will

be provided to both proxemics and ergonomics of guests, employees and company executives to

maximize their comfort and appreciation of this spectacular work environment.

The Sphere Technical Oce is one that sits on thecutting edge of technology between the real world

and the online, cyber space that we know today. Thiscompany is based out of Germany but has decided to

open a secondary cyber oce in Chicago, Illinois.Sphere Technical Oce is one of the top cyber

marketing companies in Germany with hopes ofexpansion over the next ve years. The recently

purchased 7,000 sq. ft. retail space has two levels thatwill host various sectors of the company and its sta.In the heart of an up-and-coming revival and historic

downtown, this unique storefront and business willappeal to the neighbors who try to push for

‘historically accurate’ architecture and remodels. Thelarge windows and huge vaulted ceilings will

ultimatly play into the nal design in this fast-pacedcorporate culture. Unique nishes of texture, pattern,

color and vibrancy will be dusted throughout thespaces of Sphere. A sense of modernism meets

cirque du soleil will be evident in the nal design for the interior; while the exterior will maintain

its historical staple that it is.

The existing shell has a very open plan with minimalroom partitions currently in place. The head of the

oce and the immediate assistants will reside on theupper oor, with the majority of the action taking

place on level one. Excellent morning and afternoonsun will be evident throughout the oce with views

to match! Sphere Technical Oce has called uponMacLeod Design Consultants to come on and work

with the company from start to nish; ensuring allbranding, expectations and goals are met for the

nished design.

Steele Heights at the Muckle Building recognizes theimportance of helping elderly and disabled adults

transition smoothly from living on their own to aCCRC or ALF. With the help of highly trained sta, the

24-hour facility is ready and willing to do whateverit takes to make the comfort of home a litter more

achievable at their facility. With new concepts such as‘pocket neighborhoods,’ Steele Heights at the Muckle

Building incorporates assisted living with socialinteraction, physical motivation and self awareness. The ability to walk to nearby storefronts, boutiques,

restaurants and oddities shops is something that willattract everyone.

The newly remodeled adaptive re-use project SteeleHeights, in the historical Muckle Building, will be one

that evokes a sense of modernism and livelinessthrough color and texture and with a heavy emphasison pattern and contrast. A commingling of styles will

ourish as industrial modern meets present dayurban-chic. Steele Heights at the Muckle Building willinclude light toned walls and dark hardwood ooring, giving emphasis to the furniture and accessories thatbring life and color to the spaces. The masonry brick,

wood paneling accents and FF&E selections willset a romantic and nostalgic mood on all three oors.

Ambiance will reign with the open beams and pendant lighting; and a glorious assortment of

chandeliers. Views, colors and a grand time will keep the residents wanting more in this perfectly adaptable

ALF. Considerations during the design process toensure that views of the surrounding Willamette River

are maximized from the newly design rooftop deck.

Thoroughly planned proxemics and ergonomics willensure a comfortable life for the residents and their

guests. At MacLeod Design Consultants, the missionis to provide consistently positive service in all design

applications. High-end innovations will be developedby a design-hungry team of experts looking tomaximize the newest trends with the existing elements of the property in sticking with ADA

compliancies. The budget will give ample room for luxury within the nal design; ensuring the clients

satisfaction. c r e

Steele Heights at the Muckle Building is looking to work within the adaptive/re-use guidelines of Oregon to establish a high-end Assisted Living Facility in the Riverview neighborhood of St. Helens, Oregon. St. Helens is one of Oregon’s most inuential and up-and-coming cities, so accordingly, Steele Heights at the Muckle

Building would like their newly remodeled ALF to t in, but also work with the landscape and locale of the other existing businesses. Steele Heights will t to the needs of all the end user of the spaces (elderly/disabled adult residents), work within the budget of the company and comply with city codes and regulations regarding adaptive

and re-use buildings for assisted living facilities. Interior Design development for the Steele Heights facility will consist of ADA requirements and universal design as well asany xtures and furniture needed for each of the three oors. The intent of the rst oor is to have a common area with kitchen, boutique, lounge, restrooms and greetingarea. The second and third oors are to include private living condos for the residents of Steele Heights. The rooftop expansion that has also been developed will give the

residents and their guests an additional common space with breath-taking panoramic views of the Willamette River Valley. In total, the Muckle Building is nearly 16,500 square feet distributed evenly between the three oors at 5,500 sq. ft. each. The quaint and modern approach the company would like in the end design will be established

through up-scale comfort modications, remodeling and FF&E selections.

The historical Muckle Building boasts spectacular views of the surrounding parks, shopping districts and Willamette River Valley; visible from the rooftop expansion spaceas well as the oor to ceiling windows in each of the private condos. The need for plenty of maneuverability between rooms or spaces is something that the company hopes

to establish with their open oor plan. Steele Heights is looking for a fresh, up-beat and energetic designer that has the understanding of creating a unique modern arrangement t for comfort and culture, through texture, pattern, color and liveliness. The need for spaces that heavily emphasize sophistication and tranquility is critically

important. A sense of urban-revival air incorporated with modern ideas through vibrancy of color and non-traditional form will set this design out from the rest.

The building plan has a very open feel with minimal room partitions in place. The 16,500 sq. ft. industrial building is roughly 55’ X 100’ with large double paned windows onall four sides. The Muckle Building is located between one other industrial building and the Willamette River, boasting views from the Willamette River Valley to the North,

East and West. A designer has been called in to help Steele Height at the Muckle Building achieve all of their dreams become reality. From all initial programming through the FF&E selections, layouts, ordering, on-site determinations, sketches and nalized oor plans, the designer will t the cultural and geographical demands along with

following ADA guidelines adaptive re-use standards of the local municipality.
