The company Krista Lynggaard ApS was established in the fall of 2002.Having worked in various design firms and after three years at home with her small daughters Krista’s inspiration to design children`s wear immerged. “Children have easy bodies, they test the clothes by merely being as children should be - experimental, fun loving and sometimes wild.”Krista has her design background and degree from “The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising” in Los Angeles, California. Her designs reflect the Scandinavian lifestyle. Simplicity, unique materials, small important details, possibilities for variation, high quality, and room for movement are very important factors in her clothes for chil-dren (aged 0-12 years.) “Bob The Builder meets Laura Ingles from “The House on The Prairie”. The designs are a mixture of good old fashioned nostalgia, having sometimes a vintage flair and at the same time combine a modern eye and a little bit of a lost hippie. A must is, and always has been the pockets – to hide little secrets and rocks and sometimes the pockets are secrets in themselves.”New to the range is the peace line - basic pieces in the softest Cotton/Lycra. The line comes with a message of peace. It is not a political statement. The thought stems from pure sincerity. The idea is to work with a graphic sign that is pleasing to the eye, but also opens up a dialogue with the children – Statements such as PEACE, LOVE & HAPPINESS have turned into a cliche’ – however sometimes the cliche’s are worth seriously looking into and who better to spread the message than children in comfortable, colourful T-shirts, panties, boxers, singlets etc.The goal is to make clothes for children that work, are pleasing to the eye, natural, and of high quality at a reasonable price.
