    Web DesignTitle:Web Design

    Description:A web page designed to showcase my personally designed logo.

    Objectives:Write content to describe the process of creating a logo and how it appeals tothe intended audience.Create an original logo for the web page.Aquire the knowledge of how to operate HTML and CSS systems

    Compress multiple les into a compressed folder to attatch as onele.

    Process:I created this webpage using Text Wrangler. It was the rst time I had everused CSS/HTML. i used other web browsers to check and make sure my webpage was what I wanted it to be.

    I used CSS to help create the artistic elements of my web page, and the HTMLfor all the words and specic formatting. To nd colors, I opened photoshopand used the eyedropper tool to n the codes of the colors to put into CSS. I

    divided the sections into groups on HTML so they could be in differing colors.

    Brochure

    Description:A two sided folding brochure.

    Objectives:Set up and align a two sided, folded document.Learn how to wrap text around an image.Use paragraph styles in InDesign.

    Process:To create the outline of the brochure, I used InDesign. I rst created two pag-es, one for the outside and one for the inside. I measured how I would like thepages to fold, and then added markers to those points. I used the shapes toolsto help create both dimension, and outlines for my text.

    I created my logo in Illustrator. I used the circle and rectangle shape tools tocreate it. I then added color and text to it to showcase what company it wasfor.

    I edited some of the images in Photoshop, so I could open them in Indesign andwrap text around them. For the other pictures, I used the direct feathering toolto make the edges of the pictures less harsh.

    Montage

    Description:An inspirational montage made by the blending of two images, and the use ftypography.

    Objectives:

    Learn to use masks, in order to blend images together.Use lters.Learn to manage Photoshop layers.

    Process:FIrst, I found two images that would work together to create the messagethat I wanted to portray. I cropped the rst picture to 8.5 X 11. I cropped thesecond image, the ag, and dragged it to the rst picture. I created a maskon the ag, which allowed me to smoothly incorporate it into the rst picture.I used black paint with 60% opacity to paint away the harder edges of the pic-

    ture. I blurred the edges and changed the transparency of the ag so the rstimage would still be visible. Then, I incorporated typography into the image.I added drop shadows which made the words easier to see against the darkbackdrop.

    Objectives:

    Find, scan, and import a high-quality image.Create text boxes and designs in Microsoft Word.

    Process:To create this yer, I used the tools that were available through Microsoft Word,specically in the Publishing layout. To get the picture, I scanned the picturefrom a book and placed it in the yer. I used the shapes and lling options tocreate structure for the yer. I used a monochromatic color scheme, since thecolors on the picture were mostly blacks and whites. To adjust the picture to thelayout of the yer, I had to crop the picture so it would work.

    Process:I used adobe Illustrator to create the different logos. I used the ellipse tool to cre-ate the basic shapes. To alter ate the shapes, I used the add anchor tool. I useddifferent strokes and colors to variate. I used different typography for each logo.

    Process:I created the logo using shapes, swatches, and typography in Adobe Illustrator.Once I created the logo, I moved it to Adobe InDesign, where I created a frontand back of a business card, and a matching letterhead. With the letterhead,I changed the transparency of the logo to become a watermark. I added thebusiness information and other typography, as well as a color scheme to tie

    everything together.

    Objectives:Apply appropriate Indesign principles and typography.

    Incorporate basic InDesign skills to create a basic yer layout.

    Process:Using InDesign, I was able to create a ier which contained information abouta graduate leadership conference in the future. I aligned my text both leftand right for balance. The triangles of gray and black at the top were used tocreate a focal point of the words Graduate Leadership COnference, which iswhat I was attempting to emphasize. I used white space effectively and in away that created ow for the audience.Through many rough drafts and sketch-es, I was able to create a nal copy.

    Objectives:

    Learn basic photography skills.Download a high-quality image.Use lters, brightness, contrast, and hue and saturation to edit the picture.

    Process:I started with my photo, which I took on a digital camera, and shaped the yeraround it. I found a color scheme that worked well with the colors in the pic-ture. I decided on an anagogic color scheme. I then brought the picture intoPhotoshop, where I added several affects to the picture, and created it intoa yer. I used the eyedropper tool to spread my swatches of colors through-out the picture. I used the shapes to help create dimension. I added hue andbrightness to the photo to help create more of a focal point for the picture.
