ABOUT LAVON GRAY CONSULTING GROUP
Dr. L. Lavon Gray served on the senior leadership team at First Baptist Jackson for thirteen years (2005 – 2018), giving direction to one of the premier worship ministries in the United States. As part of his leadership role at First Baptist Jackson, Gray directed the 300-voice sanctuary choir and gave oversight to a ministry with over 1,000 members of all ages.
Since 2007, Dr. Gray has served as Associate Professor of Worship at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he served as Associate Dean for the School of Music and director of the Center for Music and Worship, the largest worship leader training program in the world. He’s also the award-winning author of Hungry for Worship: Challenges for Solutions for Today’s Church, which was voted “Best of the Best” by Worship Leader Magazine in 2013.
Dr. Gray holds degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi (B.S., Political Science), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.C.M.) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Ph.D.), and has done post-doctoral work at Harvard University, as well as extensive leadership training through the Disney Institute and the John Maxwell Company. Gray is a popular speaker, consultant and lead-ership coach in educational, corporate and religious orga-nizations across the United States. His latest book, Tuning Your Heart for Worship: A Worshipper’s Journey through the Psalms Devotional, was released in 2017.

Allison Talley is the lead creative consultant for Lavon Gray Consulting Group. With a background in software development and project management, Allison has led teams all over the globe to create solutions that work. With technology degrees and a patent in Personaliza-tion and Content Management (and two others pend-ing), she understands how to create content that works with modern-day algorithms to optimize results.
Allison spent seventeen years developing hospital soft-ware before moving to the telecommunications indus-try to develop mobile apps and websites all designed to deliver a great customer experience and to engage audiences with valuable content. She has worked for PGA Entertainment, ABC Disney, NBC Universal, WeatherNation, and a variety of other content creation studios. She has worked most recently as the Director of Communications for First Baptist Church of Jackson where she has led creative teams to deliver new digital worship experiences locally and abroad through televi-sion and Internet ministries.

LEADERSHIP SURVEYYour hand-selected leadership base will complete ministry surveys to give us an unbiased understanding of your church’s health. This process allows us to design a ministry strategy, unique and specific for your church, for engaging with your team.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS VISITHave you ever wondered what guests really think about your church? We’ll send a “first-time guest” to your campus to experience your various service weekend environments. This helps us get to know you. It also allows us to give you some insights into how a first-timer experiences your services.
ON-SITE VISITDr. Gray will travel to your church for an on-site visit with you and your leadership team. This typically includes a focused conversation with the senior pastor and group sessions with your staff team and lay leadership team. The pur-pose of this process is to determine what’s working and where there’s opportunity for improvement. We’ll take a look back at where you’ve come from and assess where you are currently.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARYWe’ll deliver an executive summary with observations, comparisons of various benchmarks to like-minded churches and specific recommendations for next steps. Don’t be surprised if we encourage you to engage in a full strategic op-erating plan process. We want to help you turn vision into action.
FOLLOW-UPWe’ll schedule a follow-up call or video chat to review the executive summary together.
