Held during the semester Erasmus in Monaco

of Bavaria the project includes a multimedia

exhibition experimental but also for traditional

cinemas. Positioned at the tip of the island

on the Seine “Ile Seguin”, the project is part

of an urban renewal design originating from

the dismantling of the Citroen factory which

occupied the entire island.

The idea is to create a continuous and sinuous

space between the exterior and interior.

Consequently, priority is given to transparen-

cy, the view of the Seine and the continuity

of flooring inside-outside in order to create a

landscape-path through the building.

this free space is opposed to the closed

casket

that contains the upstairs cinema halls also

standing out for its strong structure.

The project is an experiment on

Housing located in

the suburb of Rome.

The challenge was to create

housing for people with different

needs and different ages in a

narrow space.

Due to the unsustainable mobility

that runs on both sides

of the area, it was decided to

create a socket that separates

the intervention from the traffic.

The main facade of the housing

development is in the courtyard,

thus allowing users to enjoy a

green space and a pedestrian

area .The apartments are desi-

gned for new forms of coexisten-

ce that meet the contemporary

social needs.

Accomodations are designed

appropriately to

accommodate young couples,

singles, students, families

butalso self-sufficient elderly. In

addiction the apartame ts

are designed in the name of flexi-

bility predicting possible

changes of the users.

Executive project of a library

EX Slaughterhouse of Testaccio, Rome

The project provides executive design-level to a public

library situated in the complex of the former

slaughterhouse in Testaccio, in particular taking the place of

the refrigerators’s building.

The project is structured in two volumes connected by an

underground piazza which houses the entrance and the

lobby to the reading rooms of the library.

The library is spread over several floors inside the main volu-

me. The lower volume houses the cafe.

The roof of the underground space becomes a walk-on

surface at the ground level. the surface is tilted and inter-

sected by two volumes.

This space is envisioned as an outdoor space to host stu-

dents from the nearby Faculty of Architecture who wish to

use the Library.

The connection to the city is provided from the square

connecting the underground car park, belonging to the co-

vered market in front of the library, through a passage from

the staircase.

The short side of the lot connects the square in front of of

the entrance to the slaughterhouse to the library itself.

The site on which the intervention insists is placed in the current area of the nursery Euro-

garden, behind the Baths of Caracalla, at the intersection of major systems such as the Via

Cristoforo Colombo, the Aurelian Walls and the Park of Appia Antica .

The project integrates the functions of access to the archeological city of Rome, being an in-

terchanging node between tour buses, local public service, biking routes and pedestrian trails

that lead to the heart of the city.

There also are activities for tourists, such as information services and ticketing services for the

monumental area of Rome, catering services, bookshop and commercial activities.

The intervention, in addition to satisfying the functional requirements due to the nature of the

interchange, also aims at acting as a project able to systemise the main resources of the area

with its historic green nature, the presence of archaeological sites located in important areas

(the aqueduct Antoninianus, the mausoleum of Fabio Cylon, the Aurelian walls and the Baths

of Caracalla ). The project also aims at solving the problems inherent to the place where the

roads intersect due to the presence of via Cristoforo Colombo and Via Baccelli that divides

the inside project area .

On the basis of these reflections, the strategy chosen is to work on two levels of accessibilty,

splitting driveways from the pedestrian area, allowing the two to live separate realities and

sewing up the two sides of the area currently divided. To the current street level were then

assigned fast crossing functions (exchange bus, bus, bike, taxi ) and to the lower level, the

archaeological one, were assigned the functions related to the “walkling” system. In this way,

visitors can take advantage of both functional spaces, and pedestrian routes and open spaces

are created to relate to the archaeological sites, trying to integrate the project as much as

possible with the surrounding landscape.

The home for people with disabilities has been po-

sitioned into the green environment in the calm

street with garden. The house for Sheltered Housing

‘is located in the more urban Ramsauerstraße with

access to public transport - bus stop diagonally

opposite. The existing site has a height difference

of about 2,00m between the garden and the street

level, where insinuates a sloped pathway towards

Ramsauerstraße. To exploit this advantage of the

sloping terrain for housing, assisted living ‘with a

parking garage was performed. At the same grove

located between twonew building structures is

barrier-free

The body of the building is in three volumes - Mén-

age à trois - divided by vertical gardens that are

connected together to form a compact whole. The

building geometry is optimized by the cuts of the

vertical gardens for maximum light . The gardens

are partially accessible and are used both in sum-

mer and winter because of the temperate microcli-

matic buffer zone. This buffer zone allows opening

the office window there without the usual traffic noi-

se,while this green space across the street facade is

read outside.

The floor plans offer maximum flexibility by posi-

tioning the access areas to the building edges.

Different layout types can be implemented either

per floor , or even within a projectile . Contemporary

forms of work such as offices, lounges are oriented

to the vertical garden rooms. A double bottom , the

necessary infrastructure and a conscious renuncia-

tion of false ceiling design supports the idea of a

modern office environment .

Roof Terrace - Town Hall, St. Stephen’s Cathedral

In the attic there is a roof terrace with views to the

Town Hall and St. Stephen’s Cathedral . The terrace

can be used for informal communication , as a tem-

porary workplace or as a pause option . The rooms

on the top floor can be used as seminar or event

spaces or use but also a restaurant / café ( etc. Lun-

ch / meeting) house for internal use or a restaurant /

cafe to the public.

Permeable urban ground level.

From the Josefstädterstraße

the permeable urban zone

ground floor opens to a small

covered courtyard , underne-

ath the building , with a public

passage to the Town Hall

Road. The new design for the

Town Hall Road in the east of

the building invites the partial

canopy and its terrace café to

relax and also has the added

value resulting in any weather

events hold .

The house, in its

complexity of different

existing levels (360

square meters) is en-

tirely renovated and in

the courtyard is thought

a new dynamic fassade

which runs with the stair-

this double height space

it’s a nice living room
