PEUGEOT RD is a vehicle designed for the future’s megalopolis, a huge and active scenery where millions of people live and where the roads – no matter how long – must be covered in a fast way. This is a single driver vehicle offering a flexible performance according to the user’s needs. It is not the traditional mono-volume, it is an articulated model which formally adapts to different environments and use circumstances.

Its look answers to the esthetic language of Peugeot’s brand. Proposes a reinterpretation of the Peugeot vehicles style in the future fully focused over every single one of the formal aspects. PEUGEOT RD presents an use scheme that reminds that “robot style” lived by children in the present time and without a doubt will long for in the future.

The PEUGEOT RD changes its size moving the rotation axis to the center of the vehicle, plus a direction system which comes to be quite efficient to the speed function, the auto becomes more compact when the space conditions are low and in order to cling to the floor as the speed increases, its height decreases and gains stability. The Peugeot RD offers a whole new driving experience allowing the user an efficient control and an integral exploration of the vehicle’s potentiality.

Thanks to its rotary display within the steering wheel, the Peugeot RD shows the user what he need to see in the right time. The head lamps are built from a multicolor display that can reflect whatever the passenger wants: from shapes and letters, to a representation of the music he is listening to. The vehicle offers a frontal income system ensuring the user a fast access, being consequent with the philosophy of the efficiency improving over the most important source for human beings in the future: Time.

For this particular project I developed my own methodology to find design opportunitiesI called this methodology ”opportunity node”; it consists in a graphic relation between two variables of a single theme supported by documented info. During this exercise, the main topic was HOME and we were told to find a design opportunity in the medium class context of our country ( colombia ).So a study was made in different sample houses and the common information was placed in these two variables, the graphic was made and we found five possible opportunities and therefore five different concepts came out, choosing a concept of virtual presence. In the sample families all of the individuals were carrying different activities at a different time and the most common activity for them was dinner; in colombia old families used to leave an almost ready food for the person who arrived late to finish, so this project works not only as a simple food case but as a message board, making evidence in the distance of the family members and the need of hanging around with your family members more often. This plate works as a window glass, just leave your message with your fingers, and when the food gets warm again, the steam of it will show you a message.

Feeding is an atemporal activity in nowadaysfamilies, every member of the family has his

own time and they can barely see each otherwhen dinning used to be a meeting occasion.

Metalic mesh flooringRUGGED is a farm working vehicle developed

for the C2R Engineering company ( a colombian companythat develops projects of a complex engineering )

in Colombia there is a limited technology in industriesmaking this project a step forward in colombia’s industry. All the products of this kind in colombia are brought from

outside the country and the direct competence for this projectis the Yamaha Rhino 660 a simple vehicle based on a small

combustion engine similar to AVT´s.

This range of vehicles are focused in ahobby/working use but for the specific need of colombia´s

farms a full utilitarian vehicle is necessary, so a briefof size, space and price range was delivered to me

and besides the esthetic look of a new brand ( C2R )the challenge was to make it possible for a

low technology industry.

In Colombia a strong metallurgical industry is focused in the manufacture of bicycle´s bodies

made of steel tube so the concept of theRUGGED was aimed to a simple, inexpensive

and possible production using tubular technology as the esthetic language needed for

a rising brand.

The main idea of this design is to be recognizedas a vehicle in shape when seen from far,

but seen from close would be a detail experience. To make the design simpler and functional,

the cabin was pulled to the front leaving enoughspace for a working context; the whole floor

of the vehicle is proposed in a strong steel meshto avoid water accumulation.

The seats of the RUGGED are divided in three partsto be screwed to the tubular structure

and the base of the chair is gifted with an easyplastic damping system.

The project is currently on the engineering processof the prototype attracting a good number of investors´

attention.

this particular project was one of the many made during my internship at 3Dbranding in 2007. I was told to design a mini store for an adoption institution, this store is used to collect funds for this institution to keep working, so the concept of this store was a gentle and funny look where I designed from the wall graphics to the furniture in it including the "eyed puff" i really enjoyed doing this piece because I knew it would help somehow these children and I found out that a lot of people had a special interest on it, the manufacturer did a great job and finally the house-store was build.

Tumbaga ( Spanish word for gold and copper alloy during the conquer time in pre-Columbian cultures ) This is a project for C2R engineering framed in a master plan for an ecological vehicle in Colombia. The brief was simple: we need a car with Colombian identity and a great look that would be able to sell the idea of an electric car in a traditional combustion vehicles market.the company already had the technology for this project so this was a matter of language. I started looking for a concept based on the Colombian esthetic criteria, but this country is so full of foreign language and traditions that we have forgotten our rich past, so I look behind and found the pure esthetic language of this region: our pre-Columbian cultures. The esthetic of this project is based on some particular pieces of antique gold handcrafting, taking on highlights their shapes and their meaning paying special attention to their semiotics an gestures. one particular feature on every piece of a pre-Columbian object is the expressivity of its lines, so I incorporated some strong face look from a mask made by the Tumaco Culture in the head and back lamps frame, this piece extends to the doors and when opened expresses literally a mask. The idea of the door opening was inspired in another particular piece, a pendant from the San Agustín Culture with a winged fish shape that gives elegance and showiness to the car. Some functional features of this concepts are the back seat folding and the use of the air that passes through the head lamps in a wind tunnel type that uses the wind strength focused in this little tunnel to move little blades and collect some extra energy.

The front stroke demolisher is a part of my thesis project for Industrial Design Title named " Symbolic displacement of the object to the contemporary music context " it was awarded with a Laureate thesis ( 5.0 ).This work introduces the video clip as a design tool with a huge potential to real, imaginary or even prospective scenarios approaching. In a same way the chance to print new objects with a coherent and innovator concept is there. The project contributes the subject with a scheme that values the object from its symbolic essence and as a creation code research being pertinent with the involved band, its musical influence and commercial intent. As a result, a video clip had been proposed to a story board level which had considered a study object (“Fockina” band) a musical influence (Grunge) and some particular referents to the video clip itself that manifests as a “product” which concept resumes the involved principal characteristics and shows their intention starting from a symbolical morpheme dictionary taken from the structural parts of a band’s chosen song to guide the esthetic design process.

This vehicle was conceived from a short story within a protagonist ( the demolisher as itself ) and an antagonist ( a building complex

with its own personality ) the valuable thing about this project is the recovering of the poetry and the intangible reference ( in this case the music ) as an esthetic language system,

so the function was in a second place making this event a free chance to propose some functional featuressuch as a differential wheel speed direction system

and a shock absorption hydraulic system.
