On Friday evening last, the residence of MrJ n hitlow, iii Jjixon Township, near Sugar Val- ley, was ronsnmcd by fire, and, horrible to relate, two of his children, one five and the other three yeurs of age, perished in the flames. It is sup- posed the fire caught from a candle used by the children in going to bed; their sleeping apart- ment being in the second story. Droadfj Occurrence.On Friday evening last, the residence of MrJ

n hitlow, iii Jjixon Township, near Sugar Val-ley, was ronsnmcd by fire, and, horrible to relate,two of his children, one five and the other threeyeurs of age, perished in the flames. It is sup-posed the fire caught from a candle used by thechildren in going to bed; their sleeping apart-ment being in the second story. The father andsons were nt a School Exhibition in th? neigh-borhood, and arrived at home in time to hear theagonizing shrieks of the children, but too luto torescue thein from the devouring and relentlessflames. Every thing in the house was consumed.
