The Port of San Diego's parks occupy a total of 153 acres of lavish open space that feature stunning views of the harbor. Each carefully maintained facility offers gorgeous landscaping and parking. For the pleasure of walkers, joggers, bicyclists and skaters, the Port of San Diego has created miles of pathways that weave throughout the parks along the water's edge. For anglers, fishing piers are found in five locations. The parks are also ideal for hosting corporate events, weddings or reunions. So relax, enjoy and come out and play on the waterfront in one of the lovely parks of the Port of San Diego.

Port parks promise opportunities to relax and appreciate San Diego Bay’s scenic skyline, calming waters and maritime sights. Their expansive, open spaces are perfect for individual and group activity, including:

Park Amenities For your convenience, most parks feature parking, restrooms, drinking fountains and trash receptacles. Beyond the necessities and alongside lush greenways and waterfront splendor, several parks highlight the region’s lifestyle through recreational and decorative amenities, including:

Important notes to remember: Park permit applications must be received no later than 30 days before your event date.

Park permits are not issued for events that fall on major holidays or over holiday weekends.

A permit is required for any size group if alcoholic beverages will be consumed or if there will be air jumpers on site.

America’s most uniquely beautiful public parks occupy more than 250 acres of land and border the natural wonder that is the Big Bay®, San Diego’s Waterfront. Managed and maintained by the Port of San Diego, the parks attract recreationists and fun-seekers of all ages with lush, open areas positioned along a scenic coastal trail. Each of the 20 waterfront parks is distinctive. The parks feature rich destinations, and their landscaped beauty and sweeping panoramas are complemented by imaginative and distinct works of community art.

The Port of San Diego welcomes you to experience San Diego Bay’s perfect climate and enjoy any of these parks for your next special occasion.

Host an event on San Diego’s Big Bay. Port parks are where the sun shines, joy is found and memories are made. Whether your event is casual or formal, large or small, these are great places to share good times with groups and family, friends or co-workers.

The Port of San Diego reserves its parks onafirstcomefirstserve basis. A permit is required for groups larger than 25.

Point Loma

1. Kellogg Beach Foot of Kellogg Street

This sandy bayside beach is anideal playground for all ages.

Shelter Island

2. Shelter Island Shoreline Park

North (by the gazebo) – 2200 Shelter Island Drive; Central (between the fi shing pier and the launch ramp) – 1800 Shelter Island Drive; and South (by the bell) – 1500 Shelter Island Drive

This mile-long park and promenade features a public fi shing pier, boat launching ramp, an international friendship fountain and sweeping views.

Harbor Island

3. Spanish Landing Park

East – 3900 North Harbor DriveWest – 4300 North Harbor Drive

This historical landmark commemorates the 1769 meeting of the Gaspar Deportola and Father Junipero Serra expeditions. The area features a pedestrian path, bike route, picnic tables, Callaway Carillon bell tower and the mosaic tile artwork at Cancer Survivor’s Park.

4. Harbor Island Park 1875 Harbor Island Drive

Located near the west end of Harbor Island, this park features a shoreline path for walkers and joggers, a route for bicyclists and a spectacular view of downtown San Diego and Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado.

Embarcadero

5. Tuna Harbor Park

700 North Harbor Drive

This park honors the commercial fi shing industry in San Diego and is perfect for viewing the diverse boating activity on San Diego Bay. Memorials here, including a tribute to Bob Hope, commemorate the heroic service of the U.S. military.

17. Dunes Park 790 Seacoast Drive

The playground and art at this park make it a favorite among locals and visitors.

Coronado

18. Grand Caribe Shoreline Park 598 Grand Caribe Causeway

This park features unique and native California plants making it an educational botanical setting. It is designed with a meandering naturalized path, benches, a bike rack and beautiful bronze sculpture entitled “Sheltering Wings.”

19. Coronado Tidelands Park 2000 Mullinix DriveThe largest park on San Diego Bay, Tidelands Park offers a beach, picnic areas, baseball and soccer fi elds and plenty of open space for outdoor activities.

20. Coronado Landing Park

One B Avenue

Enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the San Diego skyline from this park—a favorite for wedding ceremonies.

6. Ruocco Park

585 Harbor LaneRuocco Park is the Port of San Diego’s newest park. This 3.3 acre park hosts grass areas for recreation, seating, tables and plenty of space. Artist Roman de Salvo developed artwork for the public to enjoy including a large trellis sculpture that welcomes guests upon entering.

7. Embarcadero Marina Park North

400 Kettner Boulevard

This downtown area park borders Seaport Village and features ample parking, a gazebo and expansive recreation and event space.

8. Embarcadero Marina Park South

200 Marina Park Way – 600 Convention Center Way

This park on the bayward side of the San Diego Convention Center features ample parking, a fi shing pier, basketball courts, gazebos and a concession stand.

9. Fifth Avenue Landing ParkFifth Avenue Landing

This one-acre park is adjacent to a superyacht dockage on the bayward side of the San Diego Convention Center. For reservations, phone (619) 704-2550.

10. San Diego Bayfront Park One Park Boulevard

Enjoy a panoramic view of San Diego Bay from this grassy park adjacent to the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel. For reservations, phone (619) 564-3333.

Barrio Logan

11. César E. Chávez Park 1449 César E. Chávez Parkway

This park offers a recreational pier, picnic and playground areas, a soccer fi eld and lush, green open space for active play.

National City

12. Pepper Park 3299 Tidelands Avenue

This 5-1/2 acre park has whimsical play equipment, picnic areas, a boat launching ramp and a pier with lights for night fi shing.

Chula Vista

13. Chula Vista Bayside Park

999 Bayside Parkway (G Street)

Surrounded by marinas, restaurants and shopping, Bayside Park has a fi shing pier, picnic and game tables, public art, bike paths and walkways.

14. Chula Vista Bayfront Park

980 Marina Way

This popular park features a public boat launching ramp and beautiful landscaping. The sculpture “Konoids” by Kenneth Capps adorns the shoreline of the park.

15. Chula Vista Marina View Park

900 Marina Parkway

This park features play equipment, picnic tables, an open play area, views of the Bay and the acoustic public art piece, “Wind Harp.”

Imperial Beach

16. Portwood Pier Plaza

940 Seacoast DriveThe enticing and colorful public art, “Surfhenge,” serves as a gateway to this vibrant Imperial Beach park that features a picnic area and entertainment stage.
