IntroductionPlenum ChambersLinear Diffusers

InstallationThe plenum boxes and neckreducers are supported by 4 droprods through a locating holepositioned near each corner.When ordering plenum chambersplease specify length width &height, spigot size and position(top or side entry) and controloptions. Please note that theplenum height should in general be100mm greater that the spigotdiameter (side entry applications).

Correct selection and sizing of distribution plenum chambers andneck reducers is critical because terminal air resistance is very lowrelative to the distribution ductwork resistance. It is thereforerecommended that whenever possible terminals are served by lowvelocity stub ducts from branch ductingbalancing

systems fitted with correctcontrols.

Where it is necessary to specify and use plenums, a generous allowancefor commissioned noise generation should be made. A similar effectresults from use of neck reducers with circular duct connections becausethe reduced duct area will cause generally higher velocities and henceincreased risk of noise generation.

Aircell Diffusers

The unique integrated design of the plenum, damper anddiffuser assembly has been specifically developed topromote smooth flow lines, ensuring an exceptionalaerodynamic and acoustic performance.Aircell products can be used in any air distributionsystems where temperatures do not exceed 50° C.The components have been tested to BS4773 Parts 1 & 2to provide comprehensive, easy to use selection data forall installation options.

The ‘O’ series opposed blade damper is designed tointegrate with the plenum and diffuser range to provide asimple means of flow regulation from the diffuser face.

The unit is designed to snap fit into the universal plenum,or alternatively can be easily screw or rivet fixed intosteel ducting using the inbuilt mounting lugs.

Manufactured in black engineering grade polymer, thedamper is inherently smooth and positive in operation.

The ‘P’ series plenum is aerodynamically profiled toprovide ideal flow conditions with either top or side entryduct arrangements.

Manufactured in black engineering grade polymer, thedesign incorporates features such as internal guide vanesto reduce air turbulence, and snap-in locks to retain theopposed blade damper and diffuser mounting bar.

The plenum can be fixed to the ceiling grid or suspendedby drop rods from the slab. Either fixing method iscarried out using patented mounting brackets whichsimply slide into the plenum retaining slots.

The R600 snap-fit neck reducer is available as an optionto convert the P600 plenum spigot from 397 Ø to 312 Ø .

The Waterloo SDFCH are high capacity fixeddesigned to produce a

blade swirl diffusers

highhorizontal, radial air pattern with a turbulent

entrainment jet characteristic and are ideally suited forapplications with high heating or cooling differentials.The Waterloo SDICH is based on the SDFCH butindividual adjustment of blades to

allows thecreate a specifically required

air pattern.The Waterloo SDACH is also based on the SDFCHbut provides adjustment to the angle of all of theblades in unison in order to create the required airpattern. This can also be controlled remotely withan optional motor.Both the SDICH and the SDACH allow a continualadjustment from providing coanda effect to verticaldumping. They are particularly useful in areas thatexperience a varied thermal load, for exampleareas that are effected heavily by the changes inseason.

The Waterloo MC diffuser has been designed forboth supply and exhaust applications requiringcompact circular diffusers; unlike conventional highaspiration diffusers the MC has a small overall toneck size ratio. The diffusers are adjustable toproduce horizontal or vertical air patterns.

The Waterloo Aircell WFO series floor diffuser offers thechoice of horizontal or vertical air patterns with its flipover design, as well as a host of other unique & patentedfeatures. The WFOV low pressure vertical supply discoffers vertical projection with a 50% increase in airvolume capacity, compared with standard WFOR units.

The WFO diffuser discs are 200mm Ø and it has beendesigned to resist permanent deformation when subjectedto point loads up to 500 kg and all materials used are fireretardant. The WFOV diffuser disc is suitable for pointloads up to 300kg.

The Waterloo RWH diffusers have been designed tohandle high air flow rates and provide relatively longthrows which make them particularly suitable forconditioning of large spaces such as halls, auditoria,terminal buildings, warehouses and factories.The diffusers are versatile in application by virtue ofthe novel “reversible and rotatable” core designwhich allows the air jet to be adjusted for bothpattern and deflection. Units may be mountedindividually or in banks, in bulkhead arrangements ordirectly into stub ducts.The diffusers are constructed from aluminiumspinnings supported on a studding and spacerassembly. The core may be rotated through 180° toexpose either a straight or diffused core assembly. Inaddition, the diffuser spigot may be rotated within themounting plate (if supplied) to enable a full 360°adjustment, by releasing the tension bolts.

RWH Complete diffuser assembly including diffusercore, spigot and mounting plate (wall orceiling mounting).

RWH-P Diffuser core and spigot only (suitable formounting onto bulkheads or stub ducts thuseliminating the large mounting plate).
