Penguins Habitato Penguins live off the coasts of South Africa, New

Zeeland, Australia, Chile, and Peru and the Galapagos islands

What do they do under water• A penguin can hold it’s breath under water for 20

minutes wow that’s a long time.

• Sometimes when penguins get tired of swimming and walking they start to slide on their bellies.

What Penguins eat• In the winter the moms go hunting for food while

the dad stays home and protects the baby.

• Penguins eat squid , fish and krill.• When the mom’s come back to feed their baby

she regurgitates the food for the baby.

What did they use to protect themselves?

• Penguins use their sharp beaks to poke their enemies to death.

• Penguins have enemies that kill them and they

are killer whales and leopard seals and sea lions.

How do they keep warm• Penguins keep warm by huddling together and the

babies go under their fathers to keep warm.

• The reason that they keep warm is that they have two layers of feathers.

Bibliography• The story I read was called Penguins by Bobbie

Kalman.
