    ADOPTION OF THE ORDERS OF

    THE CONGREGATION FOR THE CAUSES OF SAINTSToday, 5 July 2013, the Holy Father Francis received in a private audience His Eminence,Cardinal Angelo Amato, SDB, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. During

    the course the Holy Father authorized the Congregation to promulgate the decreesregarding:

    - The miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed John Paul II (Karol Josef Wojtyla),Supreme Pontiff, born in Wadowice (Poland) 18 May 1920 and died in Rome on 2 April2005;

    - The miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Alvaro delPortillo y Diez de Sollano, Titular Bishop of Life, Prelate of the Personal Prelature of theHoly Cross and Opus Dei was born in Madrid (Spain) on 11 March 1914 and died in Romeon 23 March 1994;

    - The miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Hope of Jesus(nee Maria Josefa Alhama Valera), foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercifuland the Sons of Merciful Love, born in Santomera (Spain) 29 September 1893 and died inCollavalenza (Italy) on 8 February 1983;

    - The martyrdom of the Servant of God Giuseppe Guardiet y Pujol, diocesan priest, born inManlleu (Spain) 21 May 1879 and killed in hatred of the faith in Spain 3 August 1936;

    - The martyrdom of the Servants of God Maurizio Iniguez de Heredia and 23 Companions

    of the Order of St. John of God, killed in hatred of the faith in Spain between 1936 and1937;

    - The martyrdom of the Servants of God Fortunato Velasco Tobar and 13 companions ofthe Congregation of the Mission, killed in hatred of the faith in Spain between 1934 and1936;

    - The martyrdom of the Servant of God Maria Assunta (nee Juliana Gonzlez Trujillano)and 2 companions, professed religious of the Congregation of the Franciscan MissionarySisters of the Mother of the Divine Shepherd, killed in hatred of the faith in Spain in 1936;

    - The heroic virtues of the Servant of God Nicola D'Onofrio, Cleric professed in the Orderof Clerks Regular Ministers to the Sick (Camillians); born in Villamagna (Italy) 24 March1943 and died in Rome 12 June, 1964;

    - The heroic virtues of the Servant of God Bernard Philip (nee John Fromental Cayroche),professed brother of the Institute of Christian Schools, Founder of Guadalupanas Hermanasde La Salle was born in Chauvets-Servieres (France) 27 June 1895 and died Mexico City(Mexico) 5 December 1978;

    - The heroic virtues of the Servant of God Maria Isabella of Ss.ma Trinity (nee MariaIsabella Pico Caldeira widow Carneiro), foundress of the Congregation of the SistersConceptionist; born in Monte do Torro (Portugal) on 1 February 1889 and died in Lisbon(Portugal), 3 July 1962;

    - The heroic virtues of the Servant of God Maria Carmen Martnez Rendiles, foundress ofthe Servants of Jesus, calls Siervas de Jess de Venezuela, born in Caracas (Venezuela) on 11August 1903, died there on 9 May 1977;

    - The heroic virtues of the Servant of God Giuseppe Lazzati, Lay consecrated; born in Milan(Italy) 22 June, 1909 and died there 18 May 1986.
