Politics: The use of tactics and strategies to gain power in a group.

Over: Beyond a particular limit.

Overpopulation is a relative term. Over with respect to what? Food?

Resources? Or living space? Food: from 1900 to 2000 the world

population increased from 1.6 billion to 6.1 billion. But the world Real GDP per capita increased 20 to 40 times. (UN Population Division Report 2001)

1990 another UN report stated, with the current technologies fully developed the world can feed 30-35 billion people.

There is a little fixed about resources. Who knows what will be a resource in the future.

Ocean, Coal, Uranium, Wind, and now the sun has become a big resource for energy.

The fact is the industrialized West is consuming 81% of what is manufactured in the world (Khilafa.com, 2008). Energy consumption of one US citizen is equal to 60 Indians, 191 Nigerians, and 351 Ethiopians (Israr, 2008).

Due to overpopulation the world is going out of living space for the people.

Everyone in the world could have their own living space on a landmass the size of Pakistan. If everyone lived separately, they'd each

have 1,239.70 sq. ft. (approximately 35 ft x 35 ft, or 4.5 Marlaspace to build a townhouse)

If everyone lived in families of four, each family would have 4,958.81 sq. ft. (approximately 70 ft x 70 ft (One Kanal App.), or space for a single family home with a yard)

Divide the landmass by the number of people to see how much land there is per person.

1,239.70 sq ft/person

That's approximately a 35' x 35' plot of land (or 4.5 Marla) for every person on the planet, enough space for a town house. Given an average four person family, every family would have a 70' x 70' plot of land (or 1 Kanal), which would comfortably provide a single family home and yard—and all of them fit on a landmass the size of Pakistan.Source: www.Overpopulationisamyth.com

Vacant Earth

Texas

While this setup would amount to a Pakistan-sized subdivision, Pakistan is a tiny portion of the inhabitable Earth.

Increasing population is eating up all the growth of the economy and impeding development and creating poverty.

It is the one and only reason for the poverty of the third world.

The fact is some of the most populous places in the world e.g. Karachi, Tokyo, New York, are wealthy, healthy and happy. While some of the most sparsely places e.g. Balochistan remain poor and largely dependent on other parts of the country.

Internal Causes Poor political and economic administration, Widespread corruption, Excessive military budget, Inadequate spending on health and education, Fratricidal wars (خانہ جنگی) Defective markets, Unjust distribution of land, etc.

External Causes International trade and financial arrangement Foreign debt, Lack of access to technology, IMF and World Bank etc.

The total installed capacity of WAPDA and KESC totals around 19,500 megawatts. Almost two third of this power comes from thermal power plants (fossil fuels), one third is generated by water and about 2% comes from nuclear power plants.

The demand for electricity in Pakistan during the winter months actually goes down and this winter has not been an exception.

Throughout the month of December, the electricity consumption in Pakistan hovered around 11,000 MW, down from the peak levels of17,500 MW seen in summer. This demand was well within the installed capacity of WAPDA & KESC yet they were only generating a meager one third (6500MW) of their maximum capacity during this period leaving a huge gap between supply and demand.

When there is unplanned urbanization and industrialization.

Karachi is overpopulated so is Mombey but Tokyo, the Largest city of the world, is not overpopulated, New York is not overpopulated.

Its all about how you manage your urbanization. Not the number of people.

Various Theories1. White population of the world is

rapidly Shrinking. The future will be in favour the societies with large number of people.

2. Population Control Conspiracy:

The world has become a global village and there is a global economy. But there is no global government.

Reduce the number of people so that they can easily be governed by a single global government in the future.

We have proved logically and with the help of statistical data and historical support that the idea of overpopulation is not a reality. The birth of another human being is not only an addition of another mouth to feed but another brain to think and another pair of hands to work.

It is time we challenge this illogical and poisonous idea of overpopulation
