Prof. M.A.Rizvi of IIM, Indore,offered to start a C e n t r e f o r P o l i c e / Correctional Leadership at IIM, Indore to undertake worldwide survey of best police leadership practices related to police at national level, state level and district level. Professor

Pro fessor (Dr. ) A .S . N a r a n g o f I G N O U University informed that t h e y h a v e a l r e a d y i n c o r p o r a t e d P o l i c e Science as an area for r e s e a r c h i n t h e i r programme guide. He offered the use of 24 hours DD and FM channel – G y a n D a r s h a n f o r disseminating research and live interaction.

Amity University would take up subjects on psychological testing, profiling and performance indices for police/prison. Amity Business School would take up the study of Nithar i incident from management perspective.

Rizvi also offered to hold five day training courses for senior level for police officers on leadership issues. I IM, Indore o f f e r e d t o h o l d a C o l l o q u i u m o f Universities to share the research findings on police/prison subjects in January 2008.

BPR&D organized the Second All India Prison Duty Meet in collaboration with the Directorate of Prisons, Gujarat State at Ahmedabad from 12-14 May, 2007.About 200 prison officers from eight States ( Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Tamil Nadu , Gujarat) participated in eight events.

1. Art of Living Course : Two Courses for five days each from 8 - 19 May, 2007 were attended by 32 Officers of BPR&D. These were conducted by Mrs. Tripta Dhawan of AOL Org.

2. Desk Top Publishing Course :A 56 hrs. DTP course for five Officers of BPR&D was conducted by NIPSTEC under NIC at BPR&D.

3. Hands on Training : Daily a 1 hr. course on office procedures & hand on training for ministerial staff was conducted by Mr. Dharmindar Kumar, .

4. Computer Course : A five day computer course was conducted by New Horizons under NIC for 15 Officers of BPR&D from 28 May 2007.DG BPR&D also attended the course.

Also : Mr. Lalit Das, AD has returned from IIM Bangalore after 1 year course.

Mr. Randhir Singh, Inspector was repatriated to CISF after completion of his tenure.
