After a panoramic drive, our first visit in Warsaw will be St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the famous parish where thousands of Poles gathered to hear the courageous homilies of Blessed Jerzy Popiełuszko, denouncing the human right violations and declaring the truths about communism. His homilies were recorded and soon his fame spread across Poland, becoming the Warsaw chaplain of the Solidarność (Solidarity) movement. The Secret Police of the old Polish communist regime, murdered Fr. Jerzy. His martyrdom was the seed of faithful courage that Poles needed in conjunction with the help of Pope John Paul II that would end the decades of communist regime and soviet occupation. Blessed Jerzy’s tomb is in the church’s garden.

DAY 10) weDnesDay, may 12warsaw (B, D)Start the day with a tour of Poland’s Capital City, including sites like the Old Town, Market Square, Warsaw Jewish Quarters, and Ghetto Monument. Then, enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Uprising Museum. Learn about Warsaw’s destruction, the suffering and great courage of its people against the Nazis as well as the Soviets. The museum is a tribute to the insurgents who defended against the destruction of those principles precious to human existence: patriotism, courage, honor, freedom fidelity integrity and friendship. The battle for independence, with the express refutation of violence of the war and German occupation, erupted on August 1, 1944 and lasted 63 days. Afterwards, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3-9 Zytnia Street, the convent where St. Faustina entered the order while she lived in Warsaw. Farewell Mass* is planned here at the Mother of Mercy Convent. Tonight, join your fellow pilgrims for a unforgettable and festive farewell dinner. Return to our hotel for the second night of our two-night stay in Warsaw, and our final night in Poland.
