Graduation Rates—an average of 88 % of our graduates pursue higher level learningopportunities, including 4 year college/university and 1-2 year colleges (GED scores are notincluded in graduation rates as per PennsylvaniaDepartment of Education guidelines).
Honors and Advanced PlacementCourses—We offer 50 Honors Coursesand 27 different Advanced PlacementCourses at PAHS.
Dual-enrollment Courses—Partnership with Delaware CountyCommunity College providesopportunities for students to takemore than 22 Dual Enrollmentcourses while attending PAHS.
Virtual Academy—PASD has gonevirtual! Students who were previously enrolled in other cyber schools now can choose to enrollin our Virtual Academy, and have the benefit of a PASD education, including a rigorous
curriculum, and the ability to earn a PAHS diploma
High Achieving Students
The Washington Post ranked PAHS in the Top 1% of
all schools in Pennsylvania on its list of Most
Challenging High Schools for 2015, 2016, and 2017
Advanced Placement Testing: Forty-nine percent ofthe enrolled students in PAHS took at least one APcourse in the 2016-2017 school year. 91.7 % ofthose students sat for the test at the end of the year,with 72.7% of those students getting a 3 or higher onthose tests (average score was 3.29). Two hundredand six (206) individual students were recognized asan AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, AP scholarwith Distinction, or National AP Scholar.

National Merit Scholars—The class of 2017 had 10 students recognized by the National
Merit Scholarship Program.
Awards and honors—Our students are highly competitive at the local, regional, state and
national level in Model UN, Future Business Leaders of America, Mock Trial, Latin Junior
Classical League, and the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science.
Comprehensive Sports and Extra-curricular offerings
Athletics—PAHS is part of the Pioneer Athletic Conference—the PAC. We field 25 differentvarsity teams, and have won numerous divsion titles in the past few years. In the Fall of 2017,the Boys Soccer Team won the PAC Championship. We have a current student who wasnamed an All-American diver. A no-cut policy ensures all students have an opportunity to bepart of a team.
Drama—Our drama departmentproduces a fall play and springmusical, both drawing rave reviewsfrom the public.
Clubs and Activities—There are morethan 70 separate clubs at the highschool—everything from Dance Team to Youth & Philanthropy to National Honor Society.More than 85% of our student body currently participates in at least one extra-curricular. Ourgoal is for EVERY student to be involved in at least two extra-curricular activities each year.
Phantom TV— Student run TV studio broadcasts happenings from around the district, andannually create more than 60 student productions each year, as well as publicizing
community events.
Band/Chorus --Our band and choirs perform in multiple concerts and competitions throughout the year. In 2017, 8 students were selected for All-District/Region/or State festivals. Vocal Fusion is a nationally recognized a Capella choir.

Purple Press—The PAHS student newspaper was one of only FIVE high schools (public andprivate) in Pennsylvania to receive the prestigious Gold Award from the Pennsylvania SchoolPress Association two of the past three years. A Caring and Engaged Community
Community Service—Students at alllevels are involved in volunteer workthroughout the community, performingmore than 10,000 hours a year. Allstudents must complete a GraduationProject, which includes a minimum of15 hours of community service.
Destinations with Direction—This uniqueprogram is designed to increaseawareness and motivate high-potential,economically disadvantaged students atPAHS to pursue opportunities in higher
education.
Chester County FUTURES is a mentoring, academic and financial assistance program for low-
income students in the Phoenixville School District
Phoenixville Community Education Foundation— PCEF is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) whose missionis to enhance and support educational opportunities in Phoenixville. The PhoenixvilleCommunity Education Foundation supports most of the programs listed on this page. Theyalso do a Pack-a-Backpack program, support after-school and summer programs at theelementary and middle school level, and provide numerous scholarships to our graduating
seniors.
Operation F.O.C.U.S. (ForOur Children’sUncompromised Safety) is aparent/community group ofvolunteers who provide asafe after-prom celebrationfor the juniors and seniors of
PAHS.
