Analysis

In this poem the speaker describes a memorable, inspiring moment in which he connected deeply with nature.

• The opening lines compare the speaker, in his solitary strolling, to a drifting cloud.

• The solitude is broken when the speaker notices some daffodils “dancing in the breeze.”

Analysis

The Poet states how the world is so overwhelming and how we do not focus on its beauty (nature) and that we waste ourselves.

He then goes on to describe the world based on the elements of water (sea), air (wind), earth (flowers) and how we are out of tune with our planet. (it moves us not)

He concludes that he rather be a Pagan (a worshipper or enthusiast of nothing), looking at the sea, so it looks like he cares (make me less forlorn).
