Helen Lindstrom grew up in Melbourne and now lives in Willaston. Her poems have appeared in journals, newspapers and anthologies. In 2006 her poem “Cold Comfort” was published in Best Australian Poems. She has won the Nova and Satura prizes for her poem “The Tent”. Her themes are feminine and domestic. She writes about growing up, mental illness, love and loss with honesty and compassion and an attention to poetic craft. Sharon Kernot writes poetry and fiction. She is currently working as Writer-in- Residence for people with disabilities at the South Australian Writers’ Centre. Her collection of short stories, “In the Shadows of the Garden”, was published by Ginninderra Press in 2009. Her novel “Underground Road” was short-listed in the unpublished manuscript category of the 2010 Festival of Literature awards. “Washday Pockets” is her first collection of poetry.
