DoD Safety Management Center of Excellence WHO WE ARE WHO WE ARE The Department of Defense Safety Management Center of Excellence (DoD SMCX) is a central resource for commanders, safety professionals, and employees to obtain proven risk management solutions and technologies in support of DoD installation’s pursuit of Safety Management System (SMS) recognition, which may include: • ANSI Z-10 • Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) • Army Safety and Occupational Health Management System (ASOHMS) • OSHA Challenge • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) SMS The DoD SMCX Team is comprised of safety and health professionals who coalesce their knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide world class SMS support. Our team has a combined 450 years of experience as private and public sector safety professionals, OSHA Compliance Officers and VPP Managers, DoD and other Government civilian employees in the safety field, industrial hygienists, and Service Members. The DoD SMCX has the expertise to help you succeed to implement any SMS as required by the Department of Defense Instruction 6055.01.
