1.Production

The main polyurethane producing reaction is between adiisocyanate (aromatic and aliphatic types are

available) and a polyol, typically a polypropylene

glycol or polyester polyol, in the presence of

catalysts and materials for controlling the cell

structure, (surfactants) in the case of foams2.Health and safety

Fully reacted polyurethane polymer is chemically inert.No exposure limits have been established by OSHA

(Occupational Safety and Health Administration) or

ACGIH (American Conference of Governmental

Industrial Hygienists).

Polyurethane is a thermoset material. Polyurethane havingproperty such as abrasion resistance,oil and solvent resistance,load

bearing capacity,electrical insulation property due to this propertypolyurethane is suitable to use in building andconstruction,transportation,packaging,electronics and footwear andalso in other applications.

In future it also used in nano techniques in such way thatpolyurethane is very versatile material.
