2. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS, FEES,TESTING, AND INSPECTIONS.
3. ALL APPLICABLE CODES, LAWS AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING OR RELATING TO ANY PORTION OFTHIS WORK ARE HEREBY INCORPORATED INTO AND MADE A PART OF THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.THEIR PROVISIONS SHALL BE CARRIED OUT BY THE CONTRACTOR WHO SHALL INFORM THE OWNER,PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL, OF ANY WORK OR MATERIALS WHICH VIOLATE ANY OF THESELAWS AND REGULATIONS. ANY WORK DONE BY THE CONTRACTOR CAUSING SUCH VIOLATIONSSHALL BE CORRECTED BY THE CONTRACTOR.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE INDICATED OR APPROVED BY THEOWNER, TO PROVIDE LABOR AND MATERIALS TO RESTORE ALL SURFACES REMOVED, DAMAGED ORDISTURBED AS PART OF THE WORK OF THESE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, TO A CONDITION THAT ISACCEPTABLE TO THE ARCHITECT AND THE BUILDING OWNER EQUAL TO OR BETTER THAN THATBEFORE THE WORK BEGAN. THIS SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO PATCHING, PAINTING,ROOFING, ETC. FOR ALL CUTTING AND PATCHING OF THE EXISTING FLOORS, WALLS AND PARTITIONSIN THE EXISTING BUILDING.
5. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN A CLEAN AND WORKMANLIKE MANNER. CARE SHALL BEEXERCISED TO MINIMIZE ANY INCONVENIENCE OR DISTURBANCE TO OTHER AREAS OF THE BUILDINGWHICH ARE TO REMAIN IN OPERATION. ISOLATE WORK AREAS BY MEANS OF TEMPORARYPARTITIONS AND/OR TARPS TO KEEP DUST AND DIRT WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. NOTRIPPING HAZARDS SHALL BE PRESENT DURING CONSTRUCTION OR AT COMPLETION OF WORK.
6. KEEP ALL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS AND ALL PARTS OF THE BUILDING, EXTERIOR SPACES ANDADJACENT STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND PAVEMENTS FREE FROM MATERIAL AND DEBRIS RESULTINGFROM THE EXECUTION OF THIS WORK. EXCESS MATERIALS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO ACCUMULATEEITHER ON THE INTERIOR OR THE EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. CLEAN THE JOB SITE DAILY ANDREMOVE FROM THE PREMISES ANY DIRT AND DEBRIS CAUSED BY THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORKINCLUDED IN THIS CONTRACT.
7. IF THE CONTRACTOR ENCOUNTERS WHAT APPEARS TO BE A HAZARDOUS OR QUESTIONABLEMATERIAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DISCONTINUE WORK IMMEDIATELY AND CONTACT THE OWNER.
8. PLAN INSTALLATION OF NEW WORK AND CONNECTIONS TO EXISTING WORK TO ENSURE MINIMUMINTERFERENCE WITH REGULAR OPERATION OF EXISTING FACILITIES. SYSTEMS SHALL NOT BEREMOVED, DISCONNECTED, OR SHUT DOWN WITHOUT PRIOR REVIEW WITH THE OWNER AND/ORENGINEER TO CONFIRM THAT AREAS TO REMAIN IN OPERATION WILL NOT BE AFFECTED. IF ANYAREAS NOT WITHIN THE SCOPE OF WORK ARE AFFECTED BY ANY SHUTDOWN, REMOVAL ORDISCONNECTION, SUFFICIENT ADVANCE NOTICE MUST BE GIVEN TO THE OWNER INDICATING WHICHAREAS WILL BE AFFECTED, WHEN THE PROPOSED SHUTDOWN WILL OCCUR, AND FOR HOW LONG APERIOD OF TIME.
9. ALL ITEMS TO BE DEMOLISHED OR REMOVED SHALL BE DISPOSED OF AS PER THE OWNER'SINSTRUCTIONS, UNLESS INDICATED OTHERWISE. ALL ITEMS WHICH ARE NOT TO BE STORED ON SITEBY OWNER SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE BUILDING IMMEDIATELY.
10. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TOPROCEEDING WITH ANY WORK. WHERE DISCREPANCIES OCCUR BETWEEN THESE DOCUMENTS ANDEXISTING CONDITIONS, THE DISCREPANCY SHALL BE REPORTED TO THE OWNER AND/OR ENGINEERFOR EXPEDITING AND RESOLUTION.
11. USE OF THE OWNER'S ELEVATORS AND BUILDING CORRIDORS FOR HANDLING OF NEW ANDREMOVED MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE AT THE DIRECTION OF THE OWNER AND SHALL BECOORDINATED WITH OWNER'S OPERATIONS.
12. INVESTIGATE EACH SPACE THROUGH WHICH EQUIPMENT MUST BE MOVED. WHERE NECESSARY,EQUIPMENT SHALL BE SHIPPED FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN SECTIONS OF SIZE SUITABLE FORMOVING THROUGH AVAILABLE RESTRICTIVE SPACES. ASCERTAIN FROM BUILDING OWNER ANDTENANT AT WHAT TIMES OF THE DAY EQUIPMENT MAY BE MOVED THROUGH ALL AREAS.

COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL AND STATE CODES FOR SEISMICISOLATION. THE DRAWINGS DO NOT SHOW ALL SEISMIC ISOLATION POINTS, THEREFORE ALLOW FORSEISMIC ISOLATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AUTHORITY HAVING JURISDICTION.
21. EXISTING MATERIALS THAT ARE REMOVED SHALL NOT BE REUSED IN NEW SYSTEMS, EXCEPT WHEREINDICATED AS BEING RELOCATED.

24. REMOVAL AND RELOCATION OF CERTAIN EXISTING WORK WILL BE NECESSARY FOR THEPERFORMANCE OF THE GENERAL WORK. ALL EXISTING CONDITIONS CANNOT BE COMPLETELYDETAILED ON THE DRAWINGS. REMOVE AND REINSTALL EXISTING LAY-IN TYPE CEILINGS AS REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE WORKUNDER THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR TOCEILINGS AS A RESULT OF REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT OF SAME. DAMAGED CEILING TILES,INCLUDING TILES WITH HOLES OR OPENINGS LEFT AS A RESULT OF DEMOLITION SHALL BE REPLACED.REMOVE ONLY THOSE CEILING TILES REQUIRED TO GAIN ACCESS TO AFFECTED SYSTEMS AND STOREIN PROTECTED AREA WHERE DESIGNATED BY THE OWNER. REINSTALL UPON COMPLETION OF THEWORK.
26. CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP A CURRENT RECORD OF ALL DEVIATIONS FROM THE SPECIFICATIONS ANDDRAWINGS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT CORRECTED AS-BUILT DRAWINGS TO OWNER ANDENGINEER AT PROJECT COMPLETION.
27. CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH A WRITTEN GUARANTEE TO REPLACE OR REPAIR PROMPTLY ANDASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL EXPENSES INCURRED FOR ANY WORKMANSHIP AND EQUIPMENT INWHICH DEFECTS DEVELOP WITHIN A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE OF ACTUAL USE OFTHE EQUIPMENT OR TURNOVER TO OWNER, WHICHEVER DATE IS EARLIER. THIS WORK SHALL BEDONE AS DIRECTED BY THE OWNER. WHERE DEFECTS OCCUR, ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALLEXPENSES INCURRED IN REPAIRING AND REPLACING WORK OF THE OTHER TRADES AFFECTED BYDEFECTS.
28. SUCCESSFULLY PRESSURE TEST ALL NEW OR REROUTED PIPING SYSTEMS. REPAIR AND RETEST ASREQUIRED UNTIL SYSTEMS PROVE TIGHT.
29. PROVIDE ALL NECESSARY TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT CAPS OR PLUGS FOR PIPING. DO NOT LEAVEPIPING OPEN-ENDED.
30. PIPING AND OTHER COMPONENTS THROUGHOUT THESE DOCUMENTS MAY BE SHOWN WITHCOLORS REPRESENTING THE ASSOCIATED SYSTEM. PROVIDE DRAIN PROVISIONS INTROUGHS AND PIPE TO NEAREST FLOOR DRAIN.
1.11. MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUILDINGSTANDARDS. THE WORK IN THE BUILDING SHALL BE DONE IN A MANNER SATISFACTORY TO THE OWNER.
1.12. COMPLY WITH ALL LOCAL AND STATE CODES FOR SEISMIC ISOLATION. THE DRAWINGS DO NOT SHOW ALLSEISMIC ISOLATION POINTS, THEREFORE ALLOW FOR SEISMIC ISOLATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AUTHORITYHAVING JURISDICTION.
1.13. SERVICE PIPING AND VALVES SHALL BE LOCATED FOR EASY ACCESS TO VALVES AND ASSOCIATED FITTINGS.1.14. CONTRACTOR SHALL FOLLOW OWNER PROCEDURES TO OBTAIN UTILITY SHUTDOWNS BEFORE, DURING AND
AFTER ANY HOT WORK. THIS INCLUDES PROVIDING A DEDICATED FIRE WATCH FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR AFTERCOMPLETING ANY HOT WORK.
1.15. ALL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING INSTRUMENTATION, CONTROL DEVICES, AND INTERCONNECTING WIRING ON ANEQUIPMENT SKID, THAT UTILIZE ELECTRIC ENERGY FOR ELECTRONIC, ELECTROCHEMICAL, CHEMICAL, HEATING,LIGHTING, OR SIMILAR PURPOSES SHALL BE EVALUATED, TESTED, CERTIFIED, AND LABELED BY ANOSHA-APPROVED NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TESTING LAB (NRTL).
1.16. REFER TO DIVISION 00 PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS AND DIVISION 01 GENERALREQUIREMENTS AS PROVIDED BY THE OWNER AND/OR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER.
2. SCOPE OF WORK2.1. THE WORK UNDER CONTRACT INCLUDES ALL LABOR, MATERIALS, AND APPLIANCES NECESSARY FOR THE
FURNISHING, INSTALLATION AND TESTING, COMPLETE AND READY FOR SAFE OPERATION OF THE SYSTEMS.WORK SHALL BE INSTALLED IN A NEAT, WORKMANLIKE MANNER. INCLUDE ALL COSTS FOR PERMITS, LICENSESAND CERTIFICATE FILING AND INSPECTIONS REQUIRED BY AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
3. COMMISSIONING SUPPORT3.1. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE REQUIRED KNOWLEDGABLE PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT TO ASSIST IN
THE COMMISSIONING OF THE SYSTEMS WITHIN THEIR SCOPE OF WORK.3.2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE TO THE COMMISSIONING AGENT FOR REVIEW
AND APPROVAL DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. THE SCHEDULE SHALL INCLUDE THE COMMISSIONINGRELATED ACTIVITIES. THE CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE SHALL BE UPDATED AND MAINTAINED BY THECONTRACTOR BASED ON INPUT FROM THE COMMISSIONING AGENT.
3.3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE THE COMMISSIONING AGENT IN ALL REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION ANDRESPONSES TO THE REQUEST FOR INFORMATION.
3.4. CONTRACTORS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATION OF SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT DURING THECOMMISSIONING PROCESS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEMONSTRATE THAT THE SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT AREINSTALLED AND FUNCTIONING ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED SUBMITTALS, SHOP DRAWINGS, ANDINSTALLATION MANUALS.
3.5. EACH CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE TEST DATA, REPORTS, COMPLETED INSTALLATION VERIFICATIONS, ANDINSTALLATION MANUALS AS REQUESTED BY THE COMMISSIONING AGENT. THE CONTRACTOR MAY UTILIZE HANDWRITTEN AND DRAFT DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE REQUESTED DATA IN A TIMELY MANNER. TYPEDFINAL REPORTS SHALL BE ISSUED TO THE COMMISSIONING AGENT WHEN COMPLETED.
3.6. THE CONTACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE COMMISSIONING AGENT OF ANY ITEMS THAT MAY IMPACT THECOMMISSIONING PROCESS AND WILL NOTIFY THE COMMISSIONING AGENT OF THE RESOLUTION OF THOSEITEMS.
3.7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE COMMISSIONING AGENT OF SYSTEM SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION ANDPROVIDE START-UP DATES TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF ANY SYSTEM ENERGIZATION OR START-UP. PROVIDEVENDOR START-UP FORMS TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE OF START-UP AND FULLY COMPLETED FORMS UPONCOMPLETION OF START-UP.
3.8. CONSTRUCTION TURN-OVER PACKAGES, INCLUDING AS BUILT DRAWINGS AND TEST REPORTS SHALL BEGENERATED BY THE CONTRACTORS AND ISSUED TO THE COMMISSIONING AGENT FOR REVIEW.
3.9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED TO CONFIRM THAT THE INSTALLED SYSTEMSAND EQUIPMENT IS FULLY OPERATIONAL. COMPLETED LOOP CHECKS, POINT-TO-POINT, SET-POINTVERIFICATION, AND CALIBRATION DOCUMENTS SHALL BE PROVIDED WHERE SPECIFIED.
4. SUBMITTALS4.1. SUBMIT A SCHEDULE OF SUBMITTALS, ARRANGED IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER BY DATES REQUIRED BY
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. INCLUDE TIME REQUIRED FOR REVIEW, ORDERING,MANUFACTURING, FABRICATION, AND DELIVERY WHEN ESTABLISHING DATES. SERVICE-METER OUTLETS. LOCATE WHERE ACCESSIBLE TO PERMIT CLEANING AND EMPTYING. DO NOT INSTALLWHERE CONDENSATE IS SUBJECT TO FREEZING.
2.13. EXTEND RELIEF VENT CONNECTIONS FOR SERVICE REGULATORS, LINE REGULATORS, AND OVERPRESSUREPROTECTION DEVICES TO OUTDOORS AND TERMINATE WITH WEATHERPROOF VENT CAP.
2.14. DO NOT INSTALL NATURAL-GAS PIPING IN OR THROUGH CIRCULATING AIR DUCTS, CLOTHES OR TRASH CHUTES,CHIMNEYS OR GAS VENTS (FLUES), VENTILATING DUCTS, OR DUMBWAITER OR ELEVATOR SHAFTS. DO NOTINSTALL NATURAL-GAS PIPING IN SOLID WALLS OR PARTITIONS.
2.15. INSTALL UNIONS IN PIPES NPS 2 AND SMALLER, ADJACENT TO EACH VALVE, AT FINAL CONNECTION TO EACHPIECE OF EQUIPMENT. UNIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED AT FLANGED CONNECTIONS
2.16. INSTALL STRAINER ON INLET OF EACH LINE-PRESSURE REGULATOR AND AUTOMATIC OR ELECTRICALLY OPERATEDVALVE.
2.17. NATURAL GAS PIPING LOCATED IN INACCESSIBLE AREAS SHALL HAVE WELDED JOINTS.2.18. TRACER: A YELLOW INSULATED COPPER TRACER WIRE OR OTHER APPROVED CONDUCTOR SHALL BE INSTALLED
ADJACENT TO UNDERGROUND NON-METALLIC PIPING. ACCESS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO THE TRACER WIRE ORTHE TRACER WIRE SHALL TERMINATE ABOVE GROUND AT EACH END OF THE NONMETALLIC PIPING. THE TRACERWIRE SIZE SHALL BE NOT LESS THAN 18 AWG AND THE INSULATION TYPE SHALL BE SUITABLE FOR DIRECT BURIAL.
2.19. PRESSURE REGULATORS: A LINE PRESSURE REGULATOR SHALL BE INSTALLED WHERE THE APPLIANCE IS DESIGNEDTO OPERATE AT A LOWER PRESSURE THAN THE SUPPLY PRESSURE. LINE GAS PRESSURE REGULATORS SHALL BELISTED AS COMPLYING WITH ANSI Z21.80. ACCESS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO PRESSURE REGULATORS. PRESSUREREGULATORS SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM PHYSICAL DAMAGE. REGULATORS INSTALLED ON THE EXTERIOR OFTHE BUILDING SHALL BE APPROVED FOR OUTDOOR INSTALLATION.
2.20. MEDIUM PRESSURE (MP) REGULATORS SHALL COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING:2.20.1. THE MP REGULATOR SHALL MAINTAIN A REDUCED OUTLET PRESSURE UNDER LOCK-UP (NO-FLOW)
CONDITIONS.2.20.2. THE MP PRESSURE REGULATOR SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH ACCESS. WHERE LOCATED INDOORS, THE
REGULATOR SHALL BE VENTED TO THE OUTDOORS OR SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH A LEAK LIMITINGDEVICE, IN EITHER CASE COMPLYING WITH IFGC SECTION 410.3.
2.20.3. A TEE FITTING WITH ONE OPENING CAPPED OR PLUGGED SHALL BE INSTALLED BETWEEN THE MPREGULATOR AND ITS UPSTREAM SHUTOFF VALVE. SUCH TEE FITTING SHALL BE POSITIONED TO ALLOWCONNECTION OF A PRESSURE-MEASURING INSTRUMENT AND TO SERVE AS A SEDIMENT TRAP.
2.20.4. A TEE FITTING WITH ONE OPENING CAPPED OR PLUGGED SHALL BE INSTALLED NOT LESS THAN 10 PIPEDIAMETERS DOWNSTREAM OF THE MP REGULATOR OUTLET. SUCH TEE FITTING SHALL BE POSITIONEDTO ALLOW CONNECTION OF A PRESSURE-MEASURING INSTRUMENT.
2.20.5. WHERE CONNECTED TO RIGID PIPING, A UNION SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHIN 1 FOOT OF EITHER SIDE OFTHE MP REGULATOR.
3. TESTING:3.1. TEST, INSPECT, AND PURGE NATURAL GAS ACCORDING TO NFPA 54 INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE SECTION
406 “INSPECTION, TESTING, AND PURGING” AND AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.3.2. THE TEST PRESSURE TO BE USED SHALL BE NO LESS THAN 1.5 TIMES THE PROPOSED MAXIMUM WORKING
PRESSURE, BUT NOT LESS THAN 3 PSI, IRRESPECTIVE OF DESIGN PRESSURE. THE PIPING SYSTEM SHALLWITHSTAND THE TEST PRESSURE SPECIFIED WITHOUT SHOWING ANY EVIDENCE OF LEAKAGE OR OTHER DEFECTS.
3.3. TEST DURATION SHALL NOT BE LESS THAN 30 MINUTES FOR EACH 500 CUBIC FEET OF PIPE VOLUME.3.4. THE TEST MEDIUM SHALL BE LIMITED TO AIR, NITROGEN, CARBON DIOXIDE, OR AN INERT GAS.3.5. WHERE THE PIPING SYSTEM IS CONNECTED TO APPLIANCES OR EQUIPMENT DESIGNED FOR OPERATING
PRESSURES EQUAL TO OR GREATER THAN THE TEST PRESSURE, SUCH APPLIANCES OR EQUIPMENT SHALL BEISOLATED FROM THE PIPING SYSTEM BY CLOSING THE INDIVIDUAL APPLIANCE OR EQUIPMENT SHUTOFF VALVE.
4. CLEANING:4.1. REMOVE SCALE, SLAG, DIRT, AND DEBRIS FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF PIPE AND FITTINGS BEFORE ASSEMBLY.

3.2. ALL SYSTEMS THAT ARE BREACHED AND COMPONENTS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO ADDITIONS, RENOVATIONS, ORREPLACEMENT (E.G., NEW GAS SOURCES: BULK, MANIFOLDS, COMPRESSORS, DRYERS, ALARMS) SHALL BEINSPECTED AND TESTED.
3.3. TEST NEW AND MODIFIED PARTS OF EXISTING PIPING. CAP AND FILL PIPING WITH OIL-FREE DRY NITROGEN TOPRESSURE 1.5 TIMES MAXIMUM OPERATING PRESSURE, BUT NOT LESS THAN 150 PSIG. COMPLY WITH USP 32 -NF 27 FOR OIL-FREE DRY NITROGEN. ISOLATE TEST SOURCE AND LET STAND FOR FOUR HOURS TO EQUALIZETEMPERATURE. REFILL SYSTEM, IF REQUIRED, TO TEST PRESSURE; HOLD FOR TWO HOURS WITH NO DROP INPRESSURE.
