Don't Sell Landscape Grass For Heavy Usage Areas or Sports Applications!

Yes, there is a difference in quality and wear between sports and landscape yarn. Sports yarn employs a heavier denier, manufactured to withstand the day to day rugged wear of athletics, while our landscape yarns are manufactured for a soft feel and the aesthetics of natural grass

Don't landscape grass for an indoor soccer or high use area, always use one of our sports turf such as ProGreen Field MM, ProGreen Field DF, ProGreen Soccer/Baseball 38 and Agility 70. It's also important to note that our Mighty Blend Turf product is made from odd lot sports yarn. Of course Mighty Blend is not a regularly stocked turf, we do have it available in limited quantities from time to time.

AMAZING TOOL THAT HIDES SEAMS!

The SuperSeam tool comes from SuperSeam owner, Joe Wadkins. This patented tool is a must for all installers! It comes in 4' and 6' lengths, but I suggest purchasing the 6' tool. Eventually, we will stock the SuperSeam tool, but for now you can order straight from SuperSeam. You can purchase the SuperSeam tool direct from SuperSeam. Current prices are $129 for the 6' tool and $99 for the 4' tool. Check out the video on the home page of www.superseam.com

TUFT BINDIt's important to understand the characteristics of a good tuft bind. Most of our turf falls in the 12 lb Tuft Bind range which is excellent. The testing method for this is ASTM D1335, Test Method for Tuft Bind of Pile Yarn.

Perfecting Tuft BindThere are several factors that produce excellent Tuft Bind.

1) Quality Primary Backing System: While most manufactures use two primary backings, ProGreen uses 3 primary backings: Two, high density, 13-pic woven backings and one, non-woven backing sandwiched in-between the two woven backings.

2) Quality Secondary Backing:ProGreen mixes its own proprietary blend of high quality urethane that is specially designed to penetrate for our triple primary backing. The viscosity of the urethane is also important to properly penetrate the three primary backings to LOCK the yarn stands firmly in place.

3) Yarn Quality: You can have the best primary and secondary backing in the world but if you have a yarn that deteriorates prematurely, Tuft Bind integrity is lost.

4) Full Integration: Most of our competitors buy yarn from a third party and also use a third party for the secondary coating process. This hodgepodge, "Hope you mixed and matchcorrectly" process can

cause major problems and inconstancy. ProGreen on the other hand controls all phases of the manufacturing process.

Loose Tufts Caused By PerforationsIt is not uncommon to find loose fibers upon initial installation and sometimes during the first few weeks use. Perforations holes for drainage are created after the turf is tufted and coated with urethane. The perforations are created by heated spikes affixed to a large roller. The spikes are spaced 2 1/4" on center. As the turf passes through the spiked roller the holes are burned through the backing. This will loosen or completely dislodge tufts in or close to the perforations. Most of these lose tufts will come out during the power broom process, but you can still expect to see some loose tufts initially.

$1.59 sf. Value TurfOn ProGreen Website, Google Searches and Pay Per Lead Programs

As mentioned previously, we have used our teaser price of $1.59 sf in Google searches and we're pleased to announce that this marketing strategy is paying dividends!

This is no different than an auto dealer advertising a new Jeep for $15,000 in the newspaper. Customer sees the ad, knows they could probably afford $15,000 and goes to the Jeep dealership to investigate. Of course the customer must first walk through all the other Jeeps with all the bells and whistles first. By the time he gets to the $15,000 Jeep, he's already made up his mind to buy the $26,000 Jeep!

Of course if your customer decides to buy our Value Turf for $1.59 sf, we must be prepared to sell it. And even at that price, you'll still make a little on it. But guess what!? Since we've run this in all our Google campaigns over the past few months, we haven't sold one ounce of Value Turf! But the price lures them in! Our competition is doing this with higher priced specials, so guess who's site gets the click? You guessed it! ProGreen!

DOG DAYS OF SUMMERNow that summer is in full swing and temperatures can creep up to the upper 90’s to 100+ degrees, it is a good time to remind your salespeople about the potential for hot turf n certain situations. First some grasses are more prone to heat. The more dense the grass, the hotter the grass can become. K9 60 is very dense, but also a popular choice for pet owners because it holds up well to wear and tear. Sand, zeolite or a mixture of the two can be the remedy in areas that are exposed to full sun in the hottest part of the day. Other options include wetting the turf down, provided shade in the form of a sun sail.

In areas where heat and a lack of shade are a real concern, ProGreen’s K9 Rugged may be the better choice. Still a very hardy turf, the extra length and less dense nature of this grass keeps it cool and comfortable, especially when properly infilled.
