The communication line offers RS232C, RS422/285, Ethernet, BACnet, Profibus, CDMA and CANopen which allows for the integration of a SCADA system to alert users of all facets of the production line. The RS232C and RS422/485 units are utilized for communication with production line controllers/drives via MODBUS or any other ASCII based protocol. Ether- net provides high speed up to 100Mbps so the user can forward real-time data to a Super- visory Software. The Profibus communication module enables seamless communication between different manufacturers devices. The BACnet module can be used in various ap- plications such as HVAC control systems, lighting control systems, security systems and many more. Cable SpecificationsTo minimize the noise received a twisted-pair cable for RS-232 is to be used for the following communications RS-232C/422/485. If using RS-422 communication, a ter-mination resistor is to be connected on each end of the cable. A termination resistor protects the signal from distortion in the event of long distance communication. The termination resistor should be 120Ω and rated for 1/2 a watt.
