Double descant horns are fairly recent inventions, only becoming widely available inthe 1960s, and they have become the standard design. Typically, descant horns are constructedtoday as full double horns in Bb/high F, although they have been produced as compensatingdouble horns, and one maker also produces a descant pitched in Bb/high Eb.
