Discrete manufacturing is an industry term forthe manufacturing of finished products that aredistinct items capable of being easily counted,touched or seen. Discrete industries - includefood and beverages, equipment manufacturing,processing industry.

In process manufacturing, the product is createdby using a formula or recipe to refine rawingredients and the final product cannot bebroken down to its basic components. Examples:mining and metallurgical companies, cementproduction, oil and gas production and transportindustry.
