– Nearly 18 years old – Covington Native– Interests

Community Service Project• H.O.M.E. Shelter – Volunteer

– What is H.O.M.E.?• Sponsored by Catholic Community Services• 6 month shelter program for single men 18

and older• Offers a safe place to stay over night and

case management to help address the issues that have them homeless in the first place.

– My project• Planned evening meal for shelter participants• Recruited other volunteers• Shopped for and prepared food• Delivered and served food at the shelter

Community Service Project• Union Gospel Mission – Men’s Shelter

– What is the Union Gospel Mission?

• Provide meals, shelter, and assistance with recovery for up to 209 men

– My project

• Assisted with food preparation including making sandwiches for sack lunches

• Washed dishes

Job Shadow• King County Prosecuting Attorney

– Chose prosecuting attorney because I have an interest in that field

– Job Shadow included:• Met with the attorney• Went to the courtroom• Discussed his daily schedule

– General Impressions• Interesting• Fun to put criminals in jail• Service to our society

Academic Achievements• Favorite classes: UW History (Mr. Shepard);

Freshman Science (Mr. Simmons); Weightlifting (Mr. Kramer)

• At Kentlake, Computer Applications was one of the most applicable classes to my future profession.

• Primary best academic achievements occurred at Green River Community College– As of December, 2008, earned 35 credits.– Will have earned 65 credits by the end of this

year.– Taken courses in Geology, History, English,

Anthropology

• Graduating in January to enable quicker transfer to university

Future Plans• Attend Central Washington University in

Ellensburg as a transfer student– Planned Major: Political Science– Continue to Law School

• Would like to become a corporate lawyer/sports agent

Conclusion• My experiences at Kentlake have provided a solid

foundation for the next steps in my life.

• Real life learning opportunities such as volunteer activities and my job shadow with an attorney have given me insights into different career paths after high school.
