Objectives

The objective of this course in planning, monitoring and evaluation is toequip development practitioners with the knowledge and expertise to beabletoconducttheirownplanning,monitoring,evaluationandreportingortobeabletoguideprojectpartnersindoingso.

A key objective is to increase the capacity of the development sector todeliverprojectoutcomes that areefficient andeffective, and tobeable tomeasureandevaluatetheseoutcomes.

Thecoursewillprovideaspacefordevelopmentpractitionerstolearnfromeachotherbysharingknowledgeandexperiences.

Methodology

The training course will be run in a workshop style with a high degree ofparticipant involvement. Group work will be interspersed with inputsessions. Adult learningmethodologieswill be employed, and participantswillnotbepassive.Debateanddiscussionwillbeencouraged. Thetrainersareexpert facilitators,andwhiletheywillbesharingtheirownexperiencesofPM&Ewithyou,theydonotpretendtohavealltheanswers.Undertheirguidance,theparticipantswillalsobeabletolearnfromandsharewitheachother.

Requirements

To achieve these outcomes full participation is required. Therewill be nopassive learning. Participants will get opportunities to share theirexperiences and best practices regarding monitoring, evaluation andreporting. The expected outcomes from each module will focus thediscussionandlearning.
