Vision-A world in which sufficient competent and commied personnel are available and responding to humanitarian needs. This module on “Planning and Managing Humanitarian Responses” is specifically designed to increase the effecveness and efficiency humanitarian workers by appraising them on the good pracces and policies followed by agencies across the world during humanitarian response. This course aims to build capacity of the parcipants on how to coordinate and implement an effecve and efficient response to humanitarian crises. This module on “Planning and Managing Humanitarian Responses” is specifically designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency humanitarian workers by appraising them on the good practices and

Senior staff from NGOs, Go, INGOs, UN, Red Cross, programme and logistics staff and others who have couple of years’ experience on emergency response. Participation from Government departments is most welcome. Highly recommended for those individuals who wish to join the humanitarian sector.

In the training emphasis is on active learning through participatory group exercises, case studies, demonstrations and focused discussions. Training is planned and presented in collaboration with relief agencies and specialist organisations. Informal exchange of experience is a vital part of every course.

Day 1:- Introduction & Course Overview- Disaster Scenarios: Types, frequency- Humanitarian Actors- Rapid Emergency Needs Assessment

Day 2:- Humanitarian Charter & Minimum Standards for Humanitarian Response- Response Strategy - Programme planning – WASH- Programme planning – Food Security and Livelihood- Proposal Development- Logframe Practice Session

Day 3:- Humanitarian Coordination- Human resource planning and team building- Humanitarian Logistics- Cross cutting issues - Controlling Frauds- Monitoring and Evaluation

Day 4: - Simulation- Course Evaluation
