“Dear Juniors, people are going to tell you it’s difficult

to get hired at Multinationals. Trust me, ITS NOT if you do the right things.

Ideally you have to work on three things only.

1. Get involved in extracurricular activities, it would help you develop your interpersonal and social skills. Further, it helps you fill up space on resume with substance, which is very important so go knock H4’s door right now and get experience and certificates.

2. Do internships – If you’re in your first, second or third year, get yourself an internship. Placement’s office is just the right place; keep in touch with the office. They are always up to something that can potentially help you take a step towards your career goals. Attend the sessions they conduct on resume building, professional development and interview tips and techniques etc.

3. Company’s test and mock interview sessions – This aspect is important and difficult, but luckily LSE helps with that. Placement office offers resources and session on it,

don’t miss that otherwise you will be missing on MANY GOOD OPPORTUNITIES. Go get information from placement office right now. Stay connected and updated.

I worked on these bits and by the time I graduated, I had job offers from CCBPL, Nestle, Mobilink, DESCON and other multinational organizations.

Finally it’s a journey, be patient and persistent. Good luck”

Ujala SabirTrade Marketing Executive - Philip Moris

After spending more than five years in Lahore School of Economics, I can surely

say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. In 2016, I completed my bachelors in double majors marketing and finance followed by an MBA degree in 2017. I used to hear a lot about Lahore school’s MBA during my bachelors but didn’t believe it until I experienced it myself. The MBA programme has given me a broader yet important perspective and greater insights into today’s business environment. The independent learning atmosphere improved my critical thinking skills and helped me towards better decision making. The class participation rule helped me in building up my confidence and improved my communication skills. For each case, data analysis was an essential tool

to understand the core of the problem and to narrow down the best possible solution. I am now better at evaluating issues & thinking strategically to solve those issues at work.

After completing my MBA I started looking for a suitable job with the help of Lahore School’s placement office which kept us updated with all the job openings in MNCs and local companies. Within no time, I was offered a job in OUP (Oxford University Press) as Junior Sales manager. I worked there for 2 months before I applied in PMI (Philip Morris International) and went through a rigorous hiring process of an online test and full day long assessment centre which included three case studies and four back to back interviews. I was offered a job in PMI as TME (Trade Marketing Executive) and I happily took it because it was a big shot for my career. Its been already five months into this great organization with lot of wonderful people and massive learning opportunities.

Working in a big company like PMI has its perks but its not a piece of cake, especially when you have been relocated to some other city and you are away from your home. There were days when I wanted to give up but somehow pushed myself for one more day. I strongly believed that my hard work would never get wasted as long as I was honest with my work, people around me & most importantly with myself.
