Place de Bleu combines the simplicity of
Scandinavian design with a world of exquisite
skills and inspiration. Our ambition is to create
beautiful high quality products making a
positive difference and bringing joy into your
daily life. Place de Bleu is a local workshop in a global
world with a range af women sewing, knitting
and crocheting everything by hand on basis of
exceptional skills inherited through generations.
We strive to keep traditional craftsmanship alive
celebrating the uniqueness in our products.Our dedication to work with the best materials
is combined with a focus on a sustainable
production. All fabrics used in the products
from Place de Bleu are surplus production and
sponsored by the Danish manufacturer Kvadrat.
We redefine and reinvent materials and dare to
challenge conventions.
Place de Bleu trains and employs immigrant
women aiming to help these women and their
families to achieve a better life with dignity and
joy. We believe that behind every decent product
lies passion, pride and skilled craftsmanship.

Place de Bleu is endorsed by
Inspired by the Art Deco and the dazzling 1920’s,
this new collection from Place de Bleu has a sense
of timeless elegance, glamour and the joy of
everyday life.
We have been inspired by the 1920’s passion for
bold geometric shapes and lavish ornamentation;
its almost extravagant playing with colours,
textures and materials.
Sensual vibrant colours spans from pastel pink
and aqua over dark saturated colours like amber
and golden sand. The rich materials and textures
look and feel like both silk and suede, but are
much more lasting!

STAR CUSHIONOUR INSPIRATION
The Star Cushion is Place de Bleu’s signature
design per se. It represents a playful meeting
between the classic Moroccan cushion and a
more Scandinavian feel. With its round shape
and clean graphic lines the Star Cushion makes a
colorful addition to any environment.
For this AW13 collection we have produced it
in six new variations making it easy to find a
cushion that suits any temper or style of interior
decoration. Be it, the soft and tender or the more
daring. Use a single eye catcher on the sofa or
bed or combine several cushions to create your
very own expression.
GATSBY CUSHIONOUR INSPIRATION
The Gatsby Cushion is made of a pattern of
diamond shaped textiles with intercrossing
stitches adding a sense of three-dimensionality.
The inspiration is derived from the iconic Scottish
Argyll design originally used for kilts and plaids
and made fashionable by the Duke of Windsor
for his golf clothing in the 1920’s.
The Gatsby Cushion’s classic yet glamorous style
has a simplicity that transcends the traditional
line between masculine and feminine and a
sculptural feeling that makes it a natural part of
every interior and decoration.

from Kosovo. This beautiful and delicate work is a
unique textile craft, inherited through generations
and produced in high quality cotton, the ring by
tiny glass beads. We are so delighted to have
the opportunity to share this very unique work
with you as this wonderful handcraft could easily
die out, therefore producers of these intricate
masterpieces need to be encouraged, celebrated
and employed!
