Although I moved extensively as a child, I am a Dublin native and have been based here permanently for the last ten years. I have completed my PhD in computational chemistry, and currently wish to pursue new career opportunities. As a former research student, I am a naturally curious person, and I am always driven to investigate and understand new situations. My main areas of interest are data modelling, big data analysis, science and technology, and cloud computing. Skills Extensive knowledge of modelling techniques and numerical methods. Knowledge of C#, C, Fortran, Python and Perl programming languages. Experience with writing research papers and detailed work reports. Proven teaching and presentation skills. Experience with SQL. In depth understanding of chemistry, specifically physical and theoretical chemistry. Extensive experience with MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel and LaTeX word processor. High familiarity with UNIX operating system. Research focused on using ab initio electronic structure calculations to explore new materials for solid oxide fuel cells and heterogeneous catalysts. Achieved four journal publications, presented publically at both national and international conference and gained new insights into the electronic structure and chemical properties of solid state systems.
